"I'm going on a date with your brother Sirius and I don't want to hear about it" she told him at dinner
"Okay"
"Wait that's it?" she was shocked
"Lily told James and threatened that she wouldn't go on a date with him if we got mad at you" Sirius shrugged
The girls exchanged smiles and went back to eating
Regulus was rereading the letter not knowing what to do
"Regulus,
This summer my dear friend Bedelia has in-trusted me with her daughter. She will stay the entire summer, she will spend most of her time with your cousins. You understand that the dark lord request you meet with him the first of July. Our guest won't interfere at all. Do well on your owls.

"By any chance do you guys know a Bedelia?" He asked the boys in their dorm late at night
"Sounds familiar" Carrow spoke
He knew that name from somewhere but he couldn't put his finger on it. He also had to worry about getting the mark this summer and what that meant for his future
"Isn't that like Lestrange's aunt or something like that" Dolohov said
"What're you guys on about" Nott came out
"Trying to figure out who Bedelia is" Carrow answered
"Wait is she an older women?" Nott knew who that was for he had owled her just a year ago
"Yeah" Regulus answered
"That's Averys mum" "Bedelia Avery" He answered not understanding why they wanted to know
A light clicked in Regulus' mind. Prim would be at his home over summer. She would hear about him getting the mark he knew Bella couldn't keep her mouth shut. He wanted this but he wanted Prim as well.
He also feared more than anything that the dark lord would use her against him. For she was the one person on this earth that he would miss, he would do anything to protect her. And if the dark lord knew that he wouldn't think twice about using her. And he couldn't risk it.
Prim waited for him by the great hall the day of their date. He was first ten minutes late, he was never late. Then slowly thirty minutes passed and there was no sign of him. Once an hour passed she knew he wasn't coming. He had stood her up.
She moped back into the common room slightly embarrassed that she thought they would work out. She looked at the notebook and was expecting an explanation or an apology but the page was empty
"How'd you're date go?" Marlene entered her room
"He never showed" she shrugged
"You're joking?" Marlene sat down on her bed
"I waited for him for an hour, he never came"
"Oh i'm sorry Prim" she pulled her into a hug
"It's fine" she lied her feelings were genuinely hurt
She didn't tell anyone else because she didn't want Sirius to be right.
In astronomy she did not want to sit next to him but she didn't have a choice either
"Here you can have this back" she threw him the notebook
Regulus felt his heart drop. But he had to do this. He had to protect her even if that meant staying away from her.
