Chapter 30 - Reunited

Youriki and Kokoriki came running back.

Youriki: "Supervisor Mitsuba."

Kokoriki: "Our apologies, but the stairway up has collapsed, sir."

Kiji: "I see. There should be another passage that'll get us out. I'll show you. Now, give me your hands, all of you."

Kiji put everyone in cuffs, but when he got to me, they just slipped right off.

Kiji: "My, your hands are small. How does Hajime deal with you, child?"

Jinx: "He usually just throws me over his shoulder."

Kiji: "Right, well. Can you be trusted to stay with your brother and not wander off?"

Jinx: "Yes sir."

I took Uno's hand.

Kiji: "Good girl. Right, let's go. Hajime and the monkey are on the fifth level, yes? You put the cuffs on them too?"

Ruka: "I'm sure Inori did. Though I didn't see him bring them in myself."

Kiji: "Alright. I'll escort all of you outside, then I'll head back down to relieve those idiots of their chains. You stay with Youriki and Kokoriki.

Jinx, Uno, Honey & Trois: "Kay..."

He turned to Uno and I.

Kiji: "By the way, if number 69 is in the infirmary, number 25 is on the first level and you two are here, then where is that fifth cellmate of yours, number 15?"

Uno: "Aheh..."

Jinx: "N-nowhere...?"

Kiji: "HE GOT AWAY?!?"

Kiji picked up Youriki and Kokoriki by their collars.

Kiji: "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THAT EARLIER?!?"

Youriki & Kokoriki: "We're sorry sir! We were scared and confused but mostly scared!"

He put them down. Uno and I flinched as Kiji glanced at us before continuing walking. We all followed him single file, Youriki and Kokoriki on either side. Soon we were back on the first floor.

Kiji: "It's suspiciously quiet."

Uno: "Liang and them should be around here."

Honey: "Unless something killed them."

Jinx: "Don't even say that!"

Honey: "Well anything's a possibility- OW!!"

Liang: "I knew there'd be more of them!!"

We all stopped and turn around.

Jinx: "Liang!"

Liang: "Jinx?"

I let go of Uno's hand and run to hug him.

Jinx: "You're not dead!"

He ruffled my hair.

Liang: "Heh, told you we'd be fine."

Upa and Qi came around the corner with, to our joy and relief, Nico.

Qi: "I told you, there aren't any more surveillance dolls. You really should work on your listening skills, man."

Nico: "Hey Uno! Hey Jinx! What's up?"

Upa: "Aren't you supposed to be rescuing Samon and Hajime?"

I let go of Liang and run into Nico's arms. He picked me up.

Jinx: "Nico! We were so worried about you!"

He smiled.

Nico: "It's alright. I'm glad you're safe."

Uno: "Nico! Are you okay? Your meds."

Nico: "No worries, I'm all good now. Master's scary friend had my back."

Youriki: "Rokuriki!"

Kokoriki: "He's fine. Just unconscious."

Trois: "Excuse me, but you weren't with us earlier, were you, old man?"

Qi: "About that-"

Upa spoke while punching him repeatedly in the gut.

Upa: "It's a long story! He joined us along the way!"

Qi: "Yeah listen, Upa— could you stop— gut punching me?"

I noticed Honey clutching his head.

Jinx: "Hey, Honey? You okay?"

Honey: "Rrr, I'm fine... THAT HURT!"

Liang: "Sorry about that."

Kiji clapped.

Kiji: "Alright, line up. It's time to get all of you inmates into your cuffs."

He cuffed the others, and I took my brothers' hands. We kept walking.

Nico: "Hey."

Uno: "Hm?"

Nico: "Do you know where Jyugo and Hajime are?"

Uno: "Well..."

He smiled.

Uno: "I couldn't tell you that. But their fine."

Kiji suddenly stopped, making Uno run into him.

Uno: "Ow, hey, what'd you stop for? Ah-!"

Suddenly, an army of the faceless dolls came out in front of us. Uno jumped behind Nico and I.

Uno: "SAVE MEEEEE!!!"

Liang and Upa started kicking Qi.

Upa: "What was that you said about how there aren't any more surveillance dolls?"

Liang: "It's difficult to take you at your word when you're always full of crap."

Qi: "I didn't know, I'm sorry-!"

Jinx: "What do we do?!"

Kiji: "*sigh* When this is over with, I'd better get a raise. Youriki, Kokoriki, put the inmates in that cell over there. Along with your bother until he wakes up."

Youriki & Kokoriki: "Sir!"

They pushed us all in one of the cells and locked the door. Kiji readied his weapons.

Kiji: "Come on, then!!"
