Chapter 17 " New accent?"

CHAPTER 17

Ninas POV-
NINAS HOUSE

" Mom? Nevaeh?" I whisper looking around the dark house.

All the lights are off so it's kinda hard to see. Kinda hard that's wh- stop.

I sigh seeing it's still dark outside but I could've sworn I heard someone open and close the door. What the heck?

After yesterday Flash brought me back to my house and left.

He seemed upset but not at me. We didn't talk the whole way back and just sat in uncomfortable silence until we pulled into my house and he opened my door and slammed it shut once I got inside.

I could even hear it from inside of my house it was super loud.

I know his trauma now. And it doesn't change a single thing about us. I like him. I like him a lot.

I'm just confused on what we are. Me and him never really confirmed it. But I don't want to ruin it by bringing it up.

And it would be selfish to bring it up after he told me about his mom.

On the bright side Today's my birthday. Yep November 6th. The big one I'm turning 19. One digit away from 20.

And my sister and mom are in Boston trying to get a dog that talks gift card. That's the only thing I wanted.

We went to Boston on a family trip and they were filled with those cards.

All of us are graduating soon. School ends in almost a week. I think I might be older than flash. I can't wait to rub that in his face. Mostly after he thought he was older than me yesterday.

It feels like this school year has flied by. I feel like yesterday I was nervous and now I'm excited for what the next thing holds.

I laugh a little out loud at the thought. I probably look insane right now but I don't care.

I plop on the couch and check the time. It's 4:00 am. I don't have to be up for maybe another 2 hours.

I just kinda sit down in thought until I hear the noise again. Instantly I call flash. He answers after 2 rings and I hide behind my couch.

" hello? Bailey I swear to god if you're calling me because of a spider again I'm gonna fucking kill you." Flash says his voice deeper than usual. It would have been hot if what he said didn't make me smile.

What am I saying. He's not even your boyfriend Nina. Stop it. This is important you could die right now.

" Flash-" I don't even get to finish before I hear rubber boots in the kitchen and a flash light shines through the room.

" flash there's someone in my house." I whisper on the verge of tears.

" Nina? Baby. I'm on my way. Don't fucking hang up. Stay out of sight. Okay? Where are you?" He says like he's running around his room. I hear shuffling and his loud breathing.

"I'm behind my couch.. I hear someone in the kitchen." I whisper as my tears cover my sight.

" Don't worry. I'll send ace to your house since he's only 5 minutes from your house. I'll be there so soon. Do. Not. Hang. Up." He says as I hear him close his door and start his truck.

I hear the boots start to walk into the living room and I cover my mouth dropping the phone on the ground.

The tall guy turns in my direction and I duck.

How could I be so stupid. I don't believe this is happening.

I mean I read on line there's a bigger chance dying on your birthday but I didn't think it would happen.

The freakishly tall man starts to walk closer to the couch and I hear flash yelling through the phone but it's almost as if I'm frozen.

The man grabs the couch from the side of the arm rest and slides it across the floor. The slide making a scratching noise until it hits the other wall hard.

I stand up and try to run but the man grabs me by my hair and I scream while he drags me closer to him. He holds a knife to my neck and the front door slams open.

" wait please it's my birthday!" I say and he throws me to the ground and I make a huff noise and he runs towards me, I try to back up but he's stronger and faster.

He grabs a hold of me again and I try to kick him but he catches my leg.

He picks me up when he hears a car door slam and puts the knife to my neck again. This time I feel blood run down my neck.

Ace throws open the door and stands there breathing heavy and he looks like he just woke up.

Flashes truck pulls up and he comes running in.

Ace stands there and chuckles. I've never seen him so serious yet scary.

" Put the girl down. This is our business you bastardo" He says and I look at him confused.

He speaks another language? He sits on the table by my door calmly.

[ transition: bastard]

I'm getting held down by a knife and he sits down? What the hell. I'm definitely not buying him a Lego set again.

I probably will.

" And why the fuck would I do that?" The man that's holding me says. His accent evident in his voice. It's a very thick French accent.

" Because if you don't I'll fucking kill you." Flash says holding the gun at the mans head as he stands at the door way.

Gun. Flash has a gun. And it's getting held in my direction.

Do I have a gun kink? Okay Nina stop.

The man that's holding me chuckles and puts the knife more into my skin farther and I hiss.

I grunt as he continues to add more pressure and  try to wiggle from his grip. The man just tightens his grip.

" The boss was right. This girl is your guys weakness. So pathetic really." The man says as he takes the blade off my neck and brushes some of my hair back with the blade and I lean away from him.

"You're right. You have it all figured out Rocco. But the thing you didn't know. I'm gonna fucking kill you." And without warning Flash shoots the mans foot and instantly the man lets me go and screams dropping to the ground.

I don't waist any time and go to run to Flash but Flash backs away.

He looks at me and I swear it's like he doesn't recognize me.

I pause and I wipe my eyes standing still.

Ace walks towards me holding my shoulders for comfort.

" Get her the fuck out of here. Take her to baileys and sages house. Don't come back to help me ace." Flash says not even turning his head to us.

"But flash you can't-" ace says with a worried look but before he can try to argue

"I said get the fuck out!" Flash screams and I jump
Ace nods and he grabs my hand and we run out of the house.

How am I supposed to explain this to my mom?
