Review:
A decent ancient novel with a lot of conflict and enemies. Although the conflicts are repeated. It seems almost all characters are MC enemies. The supporting characters are like cameo which sometime show up then no news.
MC was the fifth prince wife, she helped him ascend the throne and become empress. Then she was disposed by her sister. She is reborn to the time when she was sent to recuperate. She met ML then got into accident. She come back 6 month later. Previously she has dark skin then now she become extremely beautiful after curing the poison. I like MC and ML has slow romance, they didn't fall in love at first sight or directly flirting.
In summary MC mother was poisoned by MC stepmother. The stepmother is current empress's sister. MC father was a commoner who got the empress family support. So MC make her revenge, her father become commoner. MC sister in the end is paralyzed and married to a neighbor country six prince as concubine. The funny thing, MC husband in first timeline which is the fifth prince, there's no more story where he is after repeatedly got scheme by MC. Not sure if he is exiled or something then that's it? Also ML is actually a prince, his mother is the neighbor princess who died in fire by current queen. After he become the prince, he rank fifth which supposed to be MC ex-husband....
The thing is, MC and ML will always wait their enemy strike them, they will have a hunch and repeatedly said to each other to be careful. Even if they knew their enemies will do something, MC and ML will always go with the trap flow then faceslap them.
ML mother is still alive, she is actually the woman who save MC during her 6 month in recuperation. She taught MC poison and medicine. In the end she died stupidly... The queen already dispose after she rebelled. Then ML mother suddenly become impatience and want to kill the queen due to old hatred. After MC talk to her, she think oh okay let's torture her slowly. She brought a slow acting poison then actually the maid is bribed by the queen and the poison killed the queen. Emperor and crown prince suddenly come and saw it. Emperor stupidly become emotional and believe the queen and crown prince who said that her own family want to rebel, the queen tried to stop them so she plan the rebel herself. The crown prince is innocent or more like helpless. The queen family also died along with her. This make the emperor emotional and in the end he didn't punish the crown prince nor the queen family. The queen's mother show up on the queen's funeral and make a bet with ML mother. ML mother said she will kill herself if queen's mother submit a list of her family hidden power. Then both of them killed themselves.
The emperor began to doubt the crown prince. I think the emperor mostly got lead by other people. The queen died, he believe her, ML mother died, he pitied her, MC mother murder case is up, he helped MC.
The flow before MC gave birth to a twin is nice but after that seems like rushing. Even MC gave birth is in 1 chapter and it was said she gave birth in 30 minutes... And they didn't know that MC got a twin.
The last I read, MC and ML burn a lot of prostitute house and revealed a lot of corruption. Then they ask to move away from capital. Yes, it's like you mess the whole house then ask to go out. I peek the end, seems like their children got story too.
