Review:
Have a good start, declining as time goes. It's like an ancient drama long novel forced compressed in fewer chapters. Like usual MC is OP, have bad family, mother got murdered, doted by ML. At first I'm hoping a good character development but sadly there's no depth and development. All the villains are braindead.
MC lost her mother when she was a child. Her mother is from Jiangnan, because she insist to marry MC father, she cut her relation with her family. Then MC father and the family disdain MC mother. Strangely MC mother still married as main wife. Then MC father married 3 concubine. Each have a daughter and MC is the 3rd child. It was said MC father at first really love MC mother but how come MC become the 3rd child... MC mother got bullied left and right until she is dead. Turns out she was poisoned by MC father concubine who later become his main wife, MC father and grandmother agreed with killing MC mother. Strangely MC didn't cut her ties even after she knows and broke it out to the family. It's like everytime villain strike MC, MC just threaten them but no action. She know her eldest sister sent killers when she is on the way from Jiangnan to Beijing but she only said she know it to the eldest sister without further action...
ML is poisoned when he was a child. His father know the real culprit but since he need the culprit family, he disregard ML. Strangely he allowed ML to hold military power and didn't do anything. After so many years and he should be not needed the culprit family but he still didn't do anything to the culprit when she is harming ML repeatedly.
I jumped to last chapter. MC eldest sister married to 3rd prince which later become emperor, then ML is back for the throne and stupidly accompany the 3rd prince talking and walking into his trap. MC also walking in. They are trapped in the room. The 3rd prince said he place explosion. MC eldest sister play flute and control the 3rd prince to kill MC. I skipped again in the end both of them died. The eldest sister obsessed with the 3rd prince so she want him to kill MC who he loved then died with herself so only she can be with him after death. I think all the villain have the same crazy obsession. 3rd prince to MC, eldest sister to 3rd prince, a girl who love ML, a girl who love MC cousin, all of them have braindead obsession.
