"I called you, I screamed your name because I thought you were hiding to surprise me." He takes a cloth out of his jacket and wipes his tears. Neatly folding it he put it back in his pocket and continues. "It was storming that Christmas so I couldn't look for you. Mom and John said that you left to have a sleepover at Alisa's. I didn't see it back then but they lied to me. They must have known that you ran away and realized you didn't survive the cold."

Tell me this is a lie. Tell me this is fake. Tell me that I didn't leave him with them. Lie to me!

"They didn't care that you were gone, but they pretended to be a happy family, just for one day. The last day that they faked happiness and treated me like a normal 5-year-old,"

"I'm sorry,"

She lowers her head, letting her guilt-filled tears stream out. Glancing towards a nearby tree, she wipes her tears.

If I can get there, I can escape

"I'll save you from knowing the rest of my life." He steps towards her, noticing her eyes glancing towards a tree and then back to the ground. "Don't leave me again. Don't leave me with these monsters in this hell. Please don't. Tell me that you won't leave me again,"

"That would be a lie," She sprints towards the tree.

He watches her pass by, just within arm's reach. He just watches her as if she was the setting sun. Reanna slides towards the tree, placing her hand on it.

Take me back to him, back to when we were happy.

The tree opens up and pulls her inside. The world reforms in front of her eyes, cars speed away from a gust of wind, as trees sprout from nothing. Reanna stood across the street watching her walk beside Liam on his way to the school.

These were the good times, the brief moments when I only had to worry about getting him to school. Not what type of wine mom was drinking and if she would overdose, if I bought the right kind of makeup to hide my bruises, or if I had enough time to hide Liam from the dangers that live in our house.

Liam walks side by side with a younger Reanna. A wide smile was plastered on his face as he talked about transformers.

"I love Bumblebee! He's so cool! Did you see when he saved the human?" He peers at his sister, who was staring at a college building.

It had tarps over the broken windows, workers were measuring glass on the ground, and employees were taking out their belongings in cardboard boxes. Tears stained their faces, they barely looked at her as they went into their cars. Liam glances at the building, then at his sister's glassy eyes. Thoughts form before, quiver in her head.

It's opening back up? So soon after hundreds of students died, and bleed out on the concrete. who would allow this college to be another target so soon? The teachers are smart enough to leave, they're already hated by everyone here. No one would allow their children to come here, not when the teachers did nothing to stop the attackers. Some probably tried but they died with the students.

"I think the human's name was Bob, maybe Alfraid? No, I think it was Fred. Am I right, Rea?"

"Sam Witwicky," She peels her eyes off the blood-smeared concrete that workers were cleaning and looks down at him. "His name is Sam Witwicky." A grin beams on his face, "But you knew that didn't you, Lee?" A smile crept on her face as she saw him happy face looking up at her.

"Of course! How could I forget the man who found the Transformers? He is so cool!"

Someday I will let him watch the full movie instead of rushing him out and telling him that a little bit of the show. Why didn't Mom see him beside her?
