Part 5 Chapter 31

The Palpadia Empire's capital, Esthrant,
Throne Room Emperor Ludius, 1400 hours the next day

Emperor Ludius called a meeting of all the important officials in the Palpadia Empire to talk about tomorrow's attack by the Myto Empire.

"Gentlemen, are our preparations ready to face the barbaric country, Myto Empire?" asked Emperor Ludius.

"We have managed to move enough troops and war materials to protect the capital, Esthirant. Even so, we will continue to strengthen the defense of the capital. Later, at this midnight, the military power protecting the capital will be at 120% of its normal state." Alde said. "We have also started moving troops to protect vital objects and points where a possible attack from the Myto Empire will occur. We've moved 50% of the troops in the west of the Palpadia Empire to the east side, where an attack from the Myto Empire is likely. If Myto's attack is delayed by one day, the defensive capabilities of the cities on the Palpadia Empire's eastern coast will increase by at least 150%."

"Good, how about the citizens of other countries?" asked Emperor Ludius.

"They have evacuated all residents, the last ship carrying foreign nationals departed at 10 o'clock. Scout also detects warships of foreign countries that have started to leave the waters near our country." said the foreign minister.

"Those damn traitors and cowards. They left us when the Palpadia Empire went to war. They are completely ungrateful." Emperor Ludius said furiously. "But at least there is no element of foreign interference in the war this time."

"But we already lost some of our strength during the war with Altarus." one of the advisers reminded.

"Are you afraid that we cannot win this war?" asked Emperor Ludius

"I'm not afraid, but our losses will be very great later." replied the adviser.

"Don't be afraid, first of all, fighting on the defensive is easier than on the attacking posture. We can do guerilla tactics or hit and run. We also have the advantage of knowing the battlefield." Emperor Ludius said. "After all, our country is destined to be able to rule all of Elysia, so we simply cannot lose in the long run. Even an HME will at times be no match for our country, the Palpadia Empire."

Hearing that many of the officials nodded in agreement. How can a Palpadia super power that continuously develops its military technology rapidly and continuously builds its military be defeated by an underdeveloped country? Even though that country was assisted by the Mu Empire.

"Your Majesty is very right. There is no way a country, let alone a barbaric one, can beat us. We might lose some of the battles, but in the end we will prevail." The prime minister's words were followed by thunderous approval from the meeting participants.

"Alde, prepare our strength as best we can. Don't bring shame on the Palpadia Empire!" said Emperor Ludius.

"We will do our best to beat the Myto Empire!!" replied Alde.

But in their hearts, Emperor Ludius and Elto, echoed the words of the Mu Empire's ambassador, which caused a feeling of dread to always haunt their hearts...

Task Force Group A, Myto Empire.

Commodore Hanlan is the leader of the forces that will attack the Palpadia Empire. The Forces were divided into 10 fleets. The fleet is divided into: the largest fleet, Task Force Group A, which will attack Esthirant; two quite large fleets, Task Force B and C which will attack other important cities; and seven small fleets, Task Forces D through J which will attack other targets.
