Turquoise helps steven up off the mattress as the ground shakes, cracks, and crumbles the chalkboard with all Peridot's drawings falling over, almost landing on steven but Turquoise catches it. Peridot was already in the cockpit of the drill.
"If you two done just lying there, maybe it's about time that we stop the world from ending!" Peridot yells
"Where are the others?!" Turquoise asks
Steven runs up to the ladder. "They're stuck on Mask Island. We have to drill without them!"
"Ugh! AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO UNDERSTANDS THE MEANING OF TEAMWORK?! Okay, Steven, are you ready to drill down into the planet to depths never before reached by your species to stop the Cluster before it forms and save your world!?" Peridot asks Steven
"I don't know!" Steven says
"Don't say that! Say, "we'll do it together, and it's gonna be great!" Peridot says
"we'll do it together, and it's gonna be great!" Steven and Turquoise both say
"LIARS!" Peridot says back panicked
"Everyone get in the drill now!" Turquoise orders
As the ground continues to shake more violently, Peridot, Turquoise, and Steven scamper into the drill's cockpit.
"Ready or not, we have a mission." Peridot says
"Now or never!" Turquoise says as he shuts the cockpit
Peridot starts up the drill, and it begins digging into the ground.
"Increasing speed!"
The drill then quickly dives into the ground, digging deeply as it traverses.
"Alright. Bracing for impact." Steven says
"Steven, calm down. we still have a while yet," Turquoise says
"It's actually two more hours to the cluster." Peridot corrects Turquoise
"Oh. Wish I'd brought some tunes." Steven says
"If I had room, I could play my gee-tar," Turquoise points out
Peridot turns on some elevator music.
"Uh, thanks." Steven says
"Thank you Peridot this will be slightly more relaxing," Turquoise says to lighten the mood
Steven, Turquoise, and Peridot remain silent as the drill continues to dig further downwards. Steven's eyes are filled with anguish as he watches the layers of rock pass by. He shuts his eyes tightly, shakes his head, and begins talking to Peridot as a distraction.
"It's kinda... freaky down here, huh?" Steven says
"Why's that?" Peridot asks
"It's just dark and cramped..." Steven says as Turquoise puts his hand on his head to comfort him
"Steven, don't you think a little cramping is worth saving the entire planet?" Turquoise asks
"You're right," Steven replies
The compartment rumbles momentarily, and Steven, Turquoise, and Peridot look around in worry.
"How'd you think you were gonna get everyone in here anyway?" Steven asks
"I don't know, they'd shrink or something. We didn't have a lot of time to plan your luck . Turquoise had the idea of allowing room for him to fit. " Peridot starts to stress
"So... what is the plan?"
"We have a drill. We're going to drill. Get ready - we're about to penetrate the asthenosphere!" Peridot explains
