EHMEL

After enjoying a delicious dinner, I decided to head down to the basement where Raha had set up a practice area. As I walked into the basement, the sound of music and laughter filled the air. It was just a few days until Raha's wedding,

I couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement in my stomach. The thought of dancing with my friends and being a part of Raha's special day brought a smile to my face. As I made my way towards the group, Sarim immediately came up to me with a mischievous grin on his face.

"My queen is here," he said teasingly. I rolled my eyes, used to his playful banter. "Oh my king, but I don't think you were waiting for me," I retorted, earning a laugh from everyone.

Just then, Raha joined in, "Ehmel, we were waiting for you. Let's get started with practice." I smiled at her, grateful for her enthusiasm and dedication.

As I looked around, I noticed Salar entering the room with an intense expression on his face. "Oh look, Salar bhai is also here," Raha exclaimed excitedly. My heart skipped a beat as our eyes met, and I couldn't help but feel drawn to him.

"All right, let's get started!" Raha announced, clapping her hands. "We have two couples for today's practice - Ali and Natasha, and Ehmel and Sarim."

As soon as my name was mentioned, my eyes shot towards Salar. His expression changed from neutral to angry in an instant. I couldn't help but wonder why. Was he jealous that I was going to dance with Sarim?

Shaking off my thoughts, I joined Sarim on the makeshift dance floor. As the music started playing, I couldn't help but sneak glances at Salar. He was still glaring at us, his jaw tense and his fists clenched.

"Focus, Ehmel!" Sarim whispered, causing me to snap out of my trance. I took a deep breath and tried to focus on the dance steps.

But every now and then, my eyes would drift back to Salar. His anger was palpable, and it made me feel a strange mix of emotions - both nervous and excited.

"What's the matter with you, Salar?" Hala asked, noticing his intense stare. "You look like you're about to punch a wall."

Salar's grip on his water bottle tightened as he replied, "Nothing, I'm fine."

But I knew he wasn't. And for some reason, I couldn't stop myself from wanting to know why. As we continued our dance practice, I couldn't help but wonder what was going on in Salar's mind. Did he not want me dancing with Sarim? Did he have feelings for me?

Focus, Ehmel. Focus on the dance. But as I danced with Sarim, a small part of me couldn't help but hope that Salar's anger was because of me. And that thought both scared and excited me.

During our dance break, I made my way to Salar, who was standing alone in a corner. "Hey, is everything okay?" I asked, trying to mask the nervousness in my voice.

He looked at me with a mix of emotions, and finally spoke, "Why are you dancing with Sarim?"

His question caught me off guard. "What do you mean? We were just practicing for Raha's wedding," I replied, trying to sound nonchalant.

But Salar's expression didn't change. "I don't like it,"he stated firmly.

I raised an eyebrow, confused by his possessiveness. "Why does it matter to you who I dance with?" I asked, trying to keep my tone calm.

Salar's jaw clenched, and he looked away. "It just does," he mumbled.

Before I could say anything else, Raha called us over to make some final changes to our routine. As I walked away from Salar, I couldn't help but wonder why he was acting so possessive. And why did it make my heart flutter?

Just then, one of Raha's cousins who was also present at the practice, commented, "Btw, we need another couple to complete the routine. It looks incomplete without one." I could sense the tension in the air as everyone's eyes turned towards Salar.

Hala spoke up, "Oh yeah, there is another couple we can add to the routine." As she said this, her gaze fell on Salar, and I could sense that she was trying to make him uncomfortable.

Hala then turned to Salar and said, "Salar, why don't you dance with me?" I could see a visible change in Salar's facial expression, as he looked annoyed at what Hala had just suggested. I couldn't believe what was happening.

Salar's immediate response was, "No way, I am not going to dance." His words were laced with irritation and his body language showed that he was not interested in dancing with Hala. I could feel the tension in the room, and it made me uncomfortable. I didn't want our dance practice to turn into a battleground.

As we all stood there in awkward silence, Hala continued to push Salar, saying, "Come on, it will be fun. We can make a great dance duo." But Salar remained firm in his decision, and I could see that he was getting more and more irritated with Hala's persistence.

Sarim, who was standing next to me, couldn't help but whisper in my ear, "Haha... Salar and dance, no way!" We both couldn't help but giggle at his statement, but our laughter was short-lived as Salar suddenly announced, "Okay, I will dance." My heart skipped a beat at his words, but it wasn't for the reasons I had hoped for. I didn't want him to dance with Hala,

but before I could say anything, he continued, "But, I need to change my partner." as he looked directly at me. I was confused, wondering who he wanted to dance with instead. Raha also seemed puzzled and asked, "what change partner but who?" That's when Salar dropped the bomb, "Ehmel, I need to dance with Ehmel."

I was shocked at his words. Salar wanted to dance with me? I couldn't believe it. But then, reality hit me. I was already paired with Sarim, I didn't want to hurt Sarim's feelings by ditching him for Salar. but before I could say anything, Raha's curiosity got the best of her.

"Salar bhai, why do you want to dance with Ehmel?"she asked. I couldn't believe that everyone was so interested in this sudden change of partners. As I looked around, I noticed Hala glaring at me with anger in her eyes. It was clear that she was not happy with Salar's decision, but I couldn't understand why.

Salar looked straight into my eyes and said, "Because Ehmel and Sarim are best friends and they can't focus on the dance. I want everything to be perfect for my sister's wedding. and I don't want any distractions. So, I think it's better if we change partners."

I knew he was lying, but I couldn't help but feel giddy at the thought that he wanted to dance with me. Sarim and I exchanged knowing looks, and he nodded, telling me it was okay to switch partners.

As Sarim walked over to Hala, Salar took my hand and led me to the center of the room. As the music started, we began to dance. I couldn't help but feel a rush of happiness. And as we moved together in perfect synchronization, I couldn't help but hope that this dance practice would never end.
