Chapter Six

Christina was right! Boys are not what I need in my life,horses yes Spartan is my life now not dumb teenage boys. Christina had called a taxi to take us into the city to a party called Malloon a new teenager club that had opened a couple months ago. We both got in the little yellow taxi and we both were so excited to get out and party! My mind wasn't really on that it was on Derek and how he could do that, but I tried to focus on Spartan and how well he has done and how far we both have come. "Look at that!" Christina says pointing at the Maloon. We both unbuckled and jumped out of the taxi, we both slowly walked in we heard some music it sounded like Crash and Burn by Thomas Rhett. We walked into the crowd and started dancing like crazy people but everyone was dancing like crazy people.I totally forgot about Derek and everything because I was so distracted,I felt so free with no weight on my shoulders till.. Derek and Kate walking in holding hands. "I'm going to get some fresh air" I say talking into Christina's ear. I walk out the back door avoiding Derek and Kate. I sit down in a blue and grey bench and wrap my hands around my legs hugging them as I look into the sky. A young boy walks over and sits by me "what's wrong?" The boy said,he had blue glowing eyes and blonde shaggy hair. "I met this guy and well..he said he liked me we kissed once and then I saw him kissing another girl.." I say running out of breath almost into tears. "Then forget about him he isn't worth it,if he didn't see how pretty you are then he is dumb." He says looking serious at me. "You're right.." I smile. He wipes my tears away "Do you want to dance together?" He asks politely as he puts his hand out. I grab his hand and he pulls me back into the Maloon. We both dance together and everything focuses on him and only him, Me and him jump up and down putting out arms.Derek watches his every move making sure nothing happened, He puts his hand on my hips and we sway to the music and he twirls me around and around.We both laugh,Derek leaves Kate and comes straight towards us with anger he pushes the boy off of me and brings him to a wall and Derek puts his arm on his throat. "Derek stop! Now!!" I say screaming at him. He slowly lets go of him and looks at me "We where never a thing..Derek.....and we never will be..you can't keep one person you can't be in a relationship I just wanted to have fun! You ruined....you ruined it!" I say looking upset and angry. I hold the boys hand and we walk off outside,I text Christina that I'm leaving early. "So you never told me your name.." I say cooling down. "My names Liam..and you are?" He asks. "I'm Adaline.." I feel my face warm up as he looks at me smiling "That's a pretty name" He says. "Do you like horses?" I grin. "Love! I own a Dapple Gypsy Vanner!"He says smiling big. "We should ride together sometime..I'm at Whispering Creek!" I say so exited. "I'm not doing anything tomorrow is tomorrow okay at 8:30?Maybe a trail ride at gray trail? Its a block away from there" Liam says. "Yeah! Sure I'll see you there!" I say while getting into a taxi to go back to Riding Academy. After getting out of the taxi I run up stairs and get ready for bed cause it was 12:37 and I had to meet Liam at 8:30. I laid in bed and started to close my eyes into a deep sleep....
"BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP" The alarm clock blares. "Shoot it's 7:50!" I hurry and put my riding clothes on and put a little makeup on and run down stairs and tack up Spartan as fast as I could. I ride off to Grey trail, I lope Spartan through a large field and make it to a big sign that said Grey Trail. I saw Liam waiting at the front with his huge Beautiful horse. I finally slowed down into a walk as I got close to him "Hey!" He says smiling. "Hey! Your horse is beautiful!" I smile back. Spartan snorts being jealous,Liam and I laugh "You too!" Says Liam. We both walk our horses down the trails,he told me that he is training to be in a barrel racing championship. "So are you guys any good?" I ask being curious. "Psh yeah! Me and King are amazing at it! What about you what do you and Spartan do?"Liam asks. "We do a lot of things like Barrel racing,Reining,Oh and we just started liberty!" I say with excitement. We both laugh "So that guy back there at the Maloon..is he your boyfriend or something?" He says looking shy. "Well..I thought he was but it turns out he was dating another girl Kate so that went down the drain,But yeah sorry about what he did.." I say upset. "Its okay I get it completely,guys can be dumb..and I'm a guy" he says laughing. "Race you to that tree!" He says laughing as he takes off. I nudge Spartan and he lunges forward in full speed, We pass Liam and King like a pro and stop right at the tree. I could feel Liam looking at like I'm a dream, "Beat cha!" I giggle. "What ever I was going easy on you since yeah.."He laughs. Liam told me that he plans to live on a huge ranch and own a bunch of horses when he finally gets out of the house with his mom and dad.I wanted the same,fresh air no one around,have so much land that it took forever to get to a store. "Liam?" I ask. "Yes mam?" He looks at me. "Thanks..you really truly are helping me." He smiles and leans over to hug me but then we both slip and land right on the ground. We both laugh cause he was on top of me and I was on the bottom. He leans in then helps me back up..man I thought he was going to kiss me but I was wrong he wasn't that kind of guy..he was the guy that waited. He puts his hand out and I grab it and lifts me right off my feet. "Thanks" I laugh. We both mount our horses again and start heading back so we can get home in time for lunch. "Maybe we can hang out again sometime?" He says shyly. "I'd like that..You could come watch my lessons it's in Monday Wednesday and Friday" I ask. "Yeah sure! Do you want to maybe get dinner at 5?" He says excited. "Sure see you then!" I hug him goodbye and race back to Whispering Creek. Spartan slows down once we get in the drive way,I hop off of him and take his tack off. I bring him to the washing area so I can clean him up since he was so sweaty. I turn on the hose and hose him down head to toe, I grab the soap and scrub his body down he paws the ground and whines with happiness. "You're a funny guy Spartan" I giggle. After I rinse him off one more time I put him out in the paster to stretch his legs and graze a little bit. He takes off looking so handsome,his tail was up and his mane was blowing with the wind as he raced around the paster. As I walk away he comes back glaring at me "Okay okay" I laugh giving him one more hug and a mint. I race back into the barn and up the stairs to me and Christina's room, I quickly unlock it and get in the shower. I wash my hair and shave my arms and legs,I get out of the shower and put on my nice blue shirt with jeans and boots. By the time I finished it had already been 4,I say bye to Christina and run out the door to go to Olive Garden to meet Liam. I rush down the stairs and run into Derek "Adaline! I've been looking all over for you! Where..where are you going?" Derek asks. "I've been avoiding you,and it's none of your business."I say annoyed walking to the driveway to go get in a taxi. "Adaline wait!" He grabs my arm. "Let go."I say looking at him. He lets go of my arm and I get in the taxi and tell the taxi driver to go to Olive Garden. Little did I know someone heard it as well..As we got closer I could see Olive Garden and a young man holding flowers outside. It turned out to be Liam! I hop out of the car as soon and the driver stopped in front of him. I run over and hug him "These are for you" he says handing me them. "They're beautiful! Thank you Liam!" I say making sure Derek didn't follow. We walk in and sit down at a booth,I order my drink of course water because I needed it before I got a headache. "Buzz buzz" I pick up my phone and it was Christina she had texted me "Something is wrong with Spartan he has been laying in his stall and he won't get up and he is sweating like crazy! I called the vet but he needs you!"I read looking worried. "I'm sorry but I really have to go Spartan is down i don't know why but do you have any way faster to get there?!" I ask nervously. "Yeah my truck lets go!" He says getting up. We both race to his red ford truck and he takes off to Whispering Creek. As soon as we got there I had already ran out of the truck straight to Spartans stall.There he was laying down almost completely soaked in his own sweat. I sit down next to his head and pet his neck all the way down to his stomach. He looks at me at the corner of his eye and I knew he was in really bad pain...
