Too much

It's all to much
The tests, guessing, pills, and such
Crisp is the water against my chin
It's burning hot as it spills on my skin

My head echoes because it's hollow
Knowledge is just too frigid to swallow
Shackled down, stuck in a rut
Torn notes and a paper cut

Damp and shallow is all my eyes are
The night went way too long and far
The purple rings beneath my lashes
My entire future turned to ashes

Because teachers don't know
What goes on after the bus abandons the child
Because the teachers don't see
What's happening to me when the door shuts

Not every house is quiet enough to learn in
Not every house has time for practicing

Some would rather study their ceiling through bleary blank eyes

Or maybe these bad grades are cries
For help on a more serious problem than one minus me.
