you grabbed your horse and raced back. you were scared because your classmates were left to help resupply the cannons along the walls. if the wall was breached, it meant that the colossal titan or the armor titan was back.

you were scared for your friends. just like you were all inexperienced. at least here you were carefully watched by your father and superiors. no one was watching their back. you had a sinking feeling at the pit of your stomach. who was still alive?

you raced back and in view of the wall readied your maneuvering gear.

"(y/n), be ready to scale the wall with me" your father said.

"yessir!"

he bolted off of his horse and you followed in suit, your gear leading you throughout the trees and to the wall. you both scaled the wall together. this wasn't the first time you had done this, and your father could see that.

you came when the wall was being plugged up by the mysterious titan. you caught eye of armin and ran towards him.

"armin! what is that?"

"its eren!"

"its-what?"

"eren is that titan." you looked up in amazement. that was eren? your admiration for him had now skyrocketed. you raced up to the nape of the neck behind armin.

"can we cut him out?"

"yeah you can try, just be careful not to cut him."

you raised your blades and cut just enough to see the back of his shirt and head. you and armin both tried to pull him out.

"hot hot!" you cried, your hands and face were burning. the steam wasn't helping you breath well either.

"we have to get him out!"

just shortly after the yellow flare was fired, the remaining titans had been subjugated, eren was handed to the scout and the garrison regiment. news as to who was eaten came to you and you cried. marco, another friend and fellow graduate had been found half eaten. you felt sick to your stomach.

everyone had just come straight from graduation and about half was dead. you didn't know what to believe. you were angry, conflicted, sad. every thought you had about the situation came all at once, all too fast.

when you had received word that eren was to have a military tribunal you wanted to scream. what had he done? sure you were told that he had gone berserk. but who really knew about his abilities. you highly doubted that he knew about his abilities until after he was eaten, as armin mentioned.

"father, where is eren?" you asked.

"why do you want to know?" he stopped in his tracks.

"because i want to know the facts."

"we will know of it tomorrow at the tribunal"

"i can't wait until tomorrow. i want to know"

"like i said, wait until tomorrow"

"then can i at least see him?"

"why do you want to see him?" he asked, eyes narrowing at you.

"because he is my friend and my job as a good friend is to make sure he is okay mentally" you argued back.

never once had you won an argument against your father. it was always short lived. he would say something to shoot you down. so when he uttered the words, "i'll take you after dinner", everything stopped. and in that second you knew, you had won.

if you haven't noticed i try to update every three days or so :) also, i would love to hear your thoughts about this book. have you guys been enjoying it so far? i'm trying to see if people will actually continue to read it
