Why Should I Trust You Mastermind Byakuya X Makoto

(Makoto POV)

I didn't say anything. How could Togami do this. To his classmates, his friends. Me. ....I had never admitted it to anyone but I had a crush on Togami. It was strange, he was mean to everyone but to me he was a bit nicer. I remember the hours we had spent together in the library. Just sitting there and talking together. Those moments made me so happy. But now I knew he was faking it. Faking it to make me fall into despair.

"Makoto are you alright?" Kyoko

Of course the ultimate detective would notice me staring off into space. She was a great friend.

"Y-yeah I'm fine." Makoto

I saw Togami staring at me and I looked down at my shoes. I didn't want him to see the despair in my face. I didn't want to let him win.

".....You're the one who killed Sakura" Aoi

"Oh come on Asahina that's hardly fair, I was one of the only people not involved in that trial." Byakuya

"SHE KILLED HERSELF BECAUSE OF YOU!!! BECAUSE THE MASTERMIND LEFT HER NO OTHER CHOICE!!!" Aoi

Hina started to charge at Togami but Kyoko grabbed her arm, holding her back.

"Calm down Hina." Kyoko

"HOW CAN I CALM DOWN WHEN SHE'S DEAD BECAUSE OF HIM." Aoi

Hina was crying now.

"Phuhuhu." Byakuya

I spoke quietly.

"Sayaka, Junko, Leon, Chihiro, Mondo...." Makoto

"Makoto?" Kyoko

I raised my voice a bit.

"Taka, Hifumi, Celeste, Sakura, Alter Ego...all of them." Makoto

"They're all dead because of this terrible....terrible  'game'." Makoto

Togami chuckled. 

"So many dead for the sake of despair, it's adorable." Byakuya

"You're sick!!" Aoi

Togami laughed again.

"Well then, this class trial is now over." Byakuya

"Wait don't we get to vote you out. Those are the rules to a class trial." Kyoko

"Honestly I don't care about the class trials anymore. I think I'll just let you guys live here in your own despair." Byakuya

"B-but that goes against the rules." Toko

"Again I don't care much for the rules anymore. I've already sunk you all deep into despair, and there's no way you're leaving the school." Byakuya

Togami then just got up and left. He only looked at me briefly as he passed. I didn't mean to but I met his eyes. He looked into them almost sad but after spotting the despair smirked at me and walked away.

".....what do we do now?" Yasuhiro

"Makoto what do you think?" Aoi

"Y-y-yeah you usually know what to do." Toko

I remembered then, who I was to them. I was the one that everyone looked to, the one that refused to fall into despair. Everyone was looking to me, ....but I had nothing. Nothing I could think of, only despair.

"I'm-..........I'm sorry..." Makoto

I couldn't do it. I turned my back on everyone, and ran feeling tears start to well in my eyes.

"Makoto wait!" Kyoko

Kyoko yelled after me but I didn't listen. I just wanted to get back to my room and cry.
