Hayoon's POV
"Hey I got the cacti." Ni-ki entered the room suddenly, causing me to jump in shock. He was holding a paper bag.

"Okay just put it by the window. On the window ledge." I said.

"Okay." He nodded and walked over to the window closest to Jungwon's bed.

"OW! It's prickly."

"Duh it's a cactus. Also, you're not supposed to touch it's leaves."

"Yeah but it's a little squeezy in here...." And with much difficulty, Ni-ki finally got both little pots of cacti out of the bag, and carefully placed it on the window ledge.

"What's Heeseung hyung doing?" Ni-ki asked. I just turned from my seat by Jungwon's bed, and pointed at the sleeping figure on the sofa.

"Oh."

"It's 7 in the morning right?"

"Yeah. Still early. But so many doctors are here already."

"Obviously. They need to keep checking in on the patients, and there are emergency situations. They almost never get breaks."

"Yeah. Well, since Heeseung hyung is here, I guess I could go? I wanna game." Of course he does.

"Yeah yeah. Jungwon will be fine. I need to get to work too."

"Okay. Should we..... uh, walk out together?"

"Yeah I guess." I stood up and got my bag and coat, then walked back over to Jungwon. "See you later." And Ni-ki and I left.

Walking together was pretty awkward. I realised I never really talked much with Ni-ki. We just knew each other existed because of Jungwon, and the fact that we mostly just hung out together in our friend group, or Jungwon's friend group, in this case.

"Well, uh, see you later, I guess." Ni-ki said awkwardly.

"Yeah, uh, bye." I replied. And we both went our separate ways.

The cafe wasn't too crowded, maybe because it isn't so visible to many pedestrians, so it doesn't attract that many people. Still, it seems that the amount of customers and regulars is enough to sustain the business.

My first day at work is just like many other first days. Getting to know my colleagues, and learning how to do some simple tasks, as well as make some drinks. And of course, I wasn't great, but I won't say I'm too bad. I just need the practice. Luckily everyone here is so nice and patient.

Also, I think my boss is bi, but I could be wrong.

There were 5 of us, 6 including our boss, and we all took turns to do various tasks. Serving the customers, taking their orders, making the coffee, washing the dishes. Although I still don't make the fancier drinks since I am most likely to mess them up. But by the end of the day, the 5 of us have gotten pretty close. Two of them were around my age, one is a part timer who is only 17, and the other one is in her mid-twenties.

After work, we all parted ways, and I changed out of the apron into my coat, and headed back to the hospital, or my temporary home.

"Dear Mr Park, I am writing to inform you that I no longer want to continue attending school and hence am withdrawing from school. Yours sincerely, Sim Hayoon. Isn't this too short?" Ni-ki read my letter out loud from the computer screen.

"I have no idea. But what else can I write."

"Actually, I don't know. Maybe you should add a sorry."
