True Love (Meliodas x OC/Reader x Zeldris)

Chapter 1

"Mama, Papa, why do I have to leave you? Why am I going to live in the castle?" you asked, you were only about 5 years old, and didn't understand what was happening. You had just discovered some of your power, that wasn't like normal demon magic. Your mother looked at you holding back tears the best she could, "You'll understand when you're older my sweet baby. This is an honor, truly." Your father was acting coldly to you, which only confused you even more, he was always so loving and a goofball with you. "Come now Lilith, we need to go to the castle now," your father informed, grabbing your small hand.

"Mama, I don't want to leave you!" you cried as you tried to resist going, an easily lost battle. "Keir, maybe we could keep her here for another few days!" your mother pleaded. "Layla, you know that's not possible, we can't defy our king.." your father answered, not looking your mother in the eye. With that, you and your father made your way to the castle.

You had only been to the castle once with your father, for a birthday party for the eldest demon prince. It was recent, for his 6th birthday. He had blonde messy hair, green eyes, and was goofy. You immediately took a liking to him, his goofiness reminded you of your father. He had a brother the same age as you, less messy black hair, green eyes like his brother but slightly darker, and quiet. He seemed shy, the opposite of his older brother, but you were going to befriend him whether he liked it or not.

You arrived at the castle with your father, scared and confused. "Lily, I need you to go play with the Princes right now while I talk to our King." he had knelt down to you to look in your eyes. "Okay, Papa..." you replied quietly. One of the servants took your hand and led you to the gardens where the Princes were playing. When the older brother saw you, he immediately ran up to you excited. "Lil! What're you doing here?!" his bright green eyes shining. "Hi Meli...Papa says I'm going to live with you from now on," you explained, you saw the younger brother slightly behind Meliodas. You ran up to him, hugging him tightly, to which he tried to protest but you had quite the grip on him so he lightly hugged you back. "Hi Zel!!" you pulled away and could see in his eyes the same shining happiness his brother had in his, despite trying to escape your hug. "Hi Lily," he returned quietly.

The three of you decided to play tag, but it quickly came to an end, you were much faster than the boys and they didn't like it. Instead, the three of you sat next to some rose bushes, staring up into the dark sky. It wasn't night, the demon realm's sky was just always dark, albeit much darker at night. "I don't know why I have to live at the castle, but I'm glad you two will be here," you exclaimed, grabbing one of their hands in each of yours. "I'm glad you're here too! Zeldris is a party pooper sometimes," Meliodas replied, trying to tease his brother. Zeldris rolled his eyes, "Shut up Meliodas!" You turn to Zeldris with puppy dog eyes, "Aren't you happy I'm here too?" "Y-yeah!" he stuttered out. You smiled brightly at him.

"Lilith, are you out here?" you heard your father call you. You jumped up from behind the bushes rushing to him, the boys following you closely. "I'm right here Papa!!" you ran into his legs, hugging them tightly. "I have to go now little one. Your Mama and I love you so very much, Lily. We'll see each other again," he hugged you tightly in his arms and left.

The years went by, you and Meliodas were always goofing off together, causing a ruckus in the castle and exasperating the guards and servants. Your relationship with Zeldris was different, you pestered him enough that he opened up to you, and you'd often sneak out with him to explore the human realm. You started doing this when you were both 13 and Meliodas was busier, having duties as the eldest Prince and heir to the throne. He was slowly starting to grow cold and it made you sad. Zel was always somewhat standoffish towards you when others were around, but he was a softie when you were alone together. Meliodas on the other hand just started being cold to you altogether.
