Hey, hi, um, I'm just checking up on you,
because it has been a while,
I think, since anyone asked you,
"How are you doing?"

So, here I am, asking you.
Are you doing fine?
Have you been eating well?
I hope you've been getting enough sleep.
Have you been doing your self care?
I hope you're not overdoing your workouts.
Have you been able to regulate yourself?
Is she still picking up fights with you for stupid reasons?
Is she getting better at communicating her needs?
I hope she's getting better for you.
How are you holding up?
Do you need to vent?
Do you need someone to listen?
Or do you need me to work out a solution with you?
Do you need a hug?

I really hope you have the energy to reach out for help,
because I can feel that you're drowning.
And this time,
the water is turbulent, and the waves are strong,
I can see you kicking your legs,
your hands searching for something to hold onto,
and you're trying to resist the force of the water.
You are struggling to get air into your lungs,
but all that you are able to inhale is water.
And now, you're sinking in deeper and deeper.

And I wish that I could help you.
I wish I could throw a wooden log into the water,
so you can hold onto it.
