I see the way girls try to get his attention
by slapping his arm,
by grazing his arm while talking,
and trying to get him to talk by asking "academic" questions.
And I see all of this while standing right next to him,
glaring at those girls so they know that he's mine
all while smoke comes out of my ears.I look at the way she looks at me
and I see a girl who once upon a time was me.
Sometimes I feel scared,
sometimes I wonder,
Maybe I was just his lonely fix?
Maybe I came in between them?
Maybe I sabotaged something that could have been?
Perhaps I'm not the right one for him?
Perhaps he deserves her?But then again I think of the way I feel when I'm with him,
the way he likes being around me,
and how we both like each other.
And despite everything, all my questions disappear.
Because I know that he would never give up on me.
