fire and forest

You were the blazing, consuming fire.
And I was the forest filled with life.

You were everything that I wasn't:
strong, confident, and fierce.

I was everything that you weren't:
comforting, serene, and calming.

You devoured me
and I kept providing you branches of myself
cause you said it made you happy.
But you went on,
until I was left with nothing more.
