Eight

I loved you, I fell.
I kept falling into this canyon
not knowing how unfathomable it was.

It was eerie.
Sometimes it would be exhilarating,
and the other times it would be distressing
to just allow myself to fall
with this unsettling feeling and sinister thoughts.
Because I knew I was falling
but never knew if I could hold onto something to stop myself
or if I would ever hit the ground.

I've finally hit the ground,
I've reached the surface after what seemed like an eternity.
But it was just Eight months.
The floor was comfortably solid.
It was comforting to know that I'd fallen
and could fall no further.

Eight, I'd said everything I felt for you
other than those eight alphabets.
