A FEW DAYS LATER

Mon quit the martial arts club and everyone in school just thought that the club members going insane was from Duke's drug. Duke was an applicant from the martial arts club but Art evicted him since he never did anything but stare at the members when they were practicing especially the girls. Pang and Art eventually discovered him to be the school's bra thief.

Nac didn't seem to remember what happened between him and Pang. Pang told me that Nac was acting like they hadn't seen each other since Pang entered the Gifted program. I get that he suffered from head trauma, but amnesia was unlikely, given the fact that I healed most of his head injuries.

Midterm exams were also coming up and everyone was becoming busy with studying except Korn. He seemed a little distant these days and he keeps hanging out with this girl from the journalism club, Koi. I can tell that Korn likes her but something about her just didn't sit right with me.

Mr. Pom was also becoming agitated that Korn still hadn't told him about his potential. Claire and I knew what it was but what baffled us was why he hadn't told Mr. Pom yet. Korn had the ability to remain awake for days without getting sleepy. Pretty awesome if you ask me, given that we were almost up all night studying for the midterms.

I headed to the photography club to meet up with Korn. As I was about to open the door, a girl walked out. It was Koi. She clutched a small notebook to her chest, looking at me with distain. I frowned and watched as she walked away. I noticed a piece of paper that fell out. It was an outline. It read:

MISSION: OUST THE GIFTED CLASS' SECRET

-SUPERPOWERS?

- BEFRIEND ONE OF THE STUDENTS AND OBTAIN INFORMATION.

I frowned, neatly tucking the paper into my bag and opening the door to the club.

"Hey, Korn." I said, walking in and my eyes widened when I saw a flash of blonde hair.  He dyed his hair.

"Hey Jai, what do you think?" He asked, brushing his hair up and I smiled.

"It looks good Korn. What made you dye your hair?" I asked, taking a seat across from him.

"Koi dyed it. She likes it like this, and I think it suits me too." He beamed and I gave him a weak smile.

"Korn, don't you think you've become close a little too quickly? She seems nice but- "I tried to explain but Korn just looked at me dismissively.

"I like her and she likes me. I feel like I can tell her anything." He stated and I flinched.

"Everything?" I repeated and he nodded.

"She's just so fun and beautiful. She's the only one person who listens to me." He said and I frowned.

"The only one? So what am I? A chicken?" I asked and Korn looked at me.

"That's different Jai. You're my best friend." He clarified and I looked at him, sighing.

"Korn, just don't trust her too much. You barely know her." I warned and Korn looked at me in annoyance.

"We've been spending so much time together. I think I know her more than enough Jai. Stop making her seem like a bad person." Korn defended, getting up and I sighed, getting up as well.

"I'm not Korn. I'm trying to protect you. You're blinded by your feelings for her. Look at yourself, you're changing yourself for her!" I yelled at him and he scoffed.

"I love her and she loves me." He stated and I shook my head in disbelief.

"She doesn't love you. If she did, she would have never changed how you looked. Love is supposed to make you feel free to be yourself around that person." I told him and he stayed silent, looking at me intently.
