Chapter Twenty Six

I have been working my ass for since the breakdown with Liam. I ran that day and went straight to my room so as I can just breakdown without any pity.

Now I am at the gym working my ass off so I can be the best. In the past few weeks my gym has become my best friend less interaction with Liam and his younger brother Samuel and his cousin is God knows where she is.

"Well I will say you have been working hard" came the voice. I turned panting so hard to see Samuel and his annoying smirk face.

"What do you want?" I asked

"Me! Nothing you on the other hand need treatment fast or else you will die pretty soon with exhaustion"he says

"I am fine no need for medical check bullshit so please leave me"I turned around returning to my punching bag.

I am grabbed by the hand and I make eye contact with Samuel and he looked beyond pissed.

"Listen here I know we don't see eye to eye but I am really trying to be a friend here more than an asshole okay you need medical attention cause look at yourself you have bloody knuckles so sit down and let me help you" he says

"Everyone who try's to help me ends up dead do you really want to be in that list of the dead people?"I screamed at him

He stares at me for my sudden outburst words. I close my eyes so as I can calm myself up and not lash out to him anymore.

"Did they offer to help or not?" He asks

"Does it matter they still died"I tell him

"Did they or not?"

"They did offer help" I said

"Then why do you drone yourself in your own misery like it's your fault while what they only did was try to help you out" he says

"I cost them there life. Chris had  a child and wife I made them fatherless and you have the decency of telling me I shouldn't say this is my fault" I screamed at him

"You don't know what happened that day, Chris blowed up the entire house so I was not caught by them do .....do you know what was like?" I choke out the last words not wanting to make him see I am in my vulnerable state.

"It's your fault they died yes you deserve the death of a lifetime"he says

I look at him with pure anger and clench my fist 👊 wanting to kill him right now.

"Seeing you angry meaning that you wanted more assurance that it was your fault so you can have a reason of not living while you have been give a damn second chance of living and trying to make everything right by finding who the hell is responsible with your misery. Your so caught up with your misery of its your fault but your forgetting the bigger picture that there people hunting you and you don't even know why they are you can't even seem to connect the dots to solving the case and return back to your normal life that you left behind to protect the people you care about" he says

I looked at him and knew he had a point I was so obsessed with my own fault but I have not come to a conclusion start of why there after me in the first place.

"What you did by running away the first six months was to protect your family? What if they blame you for what you did? You abandon them do you think they don't have the right to do it? In fact you didn't even tell them you where running away in the first place. And you faked your death don't you think they are even more angrily if they found out you have been battling alone while they wanted to offer the help. Sometimes you just need help from someone even if the battle is yours alone to fight. Don't you know that?" He says

I remain quiet and just look at him.

"My knuckles are bloody fix them" I said with authority not asking but demanding

He chuckles and brings his first aid kit and helps me.

"You two are alike you know" he says wiping the blood in my hands. I raise an eyebrow to him

"My brother Liam, your a like you both don't want help cause you think it's best to protect the ones you love most" he says

I chuckle

"He has a heart" I mumble

"His a softie trust me the whole bad boy cover mafia bullshit is people could respect him and follow his lead. His actually really nice when you get to know him" he says

"Seems like you like him and look up to him" I said

"Of course I do, we aren't related or anything so yeah"he shrugs off

I remain with a huge shock revelation.

He laughs.

"Liam isn't who you think he is also he also has a nasty past more than you and we aren't brothers his adopted well not per se adopted but yeah" he says.

"What?" I asked

"He is that way cause of what he went through as a child so you and him don't have any difference just him he knows how to handle this situation cause his more used to it than you are" he says

He starts packing up his bags and medical stuffs also.

"He doesn't know what is like to kill family" I whispered

I see the look at his face and he masked it with serious face on.

"He knows plenty of that even more" he says

"Well his acting like it's nothing" I said

"Imagine the one person you look up to turn out to be the worst monster ever what will you do?" He asks

"I......" I remained quiet

"Exactly you knew your brother for how long 2-3months give or take leaving the part you where strip out of your memories with your dad and brother plus mother who died. Now imagine him all the 9 years he had to live knowing the true face under that one night eventful and everything turned sideways"

"People have many stories more than you know scars that never leave there mind for eternity even if they want it to all end" he continues saying

He stands up and walks up to the door but in time to turn around and look at me one more time.

"He had to witness his sister being raped by his own stepfather and his own mother kills the both leaving him alone with blood on his hand and you know what's worse he remembers his killer each night and the same killer is after you"

I remain shocked and not able to move I didn't know what to say nor do.

"Now when I tell you are not different to him it's true the only difference is that he handles it too well and it scares the crap out of me. So do me a favor don't cause more trouble than he is already is" he walks out of the door and with that I drop down in my knees and not saying anything.
