Chapter 26 : So Much Guilt

The morning breeze made its way through the half rolled down window, running across my face, and threw my hair making it fly around my head widely. As the wind traveled through the car, my body shivered from its coldness.

I dug into my backpack, sliding my loveliveserve merch hoodie on my upper body. I smile and sigh, loving the quietness surrounding the streets. The only sounds are kids walking to school, school buses picking up kids, and parents hopping into their cars for work.

It's all so peaceful.

You'd look at this and think the entire world is peaceful. Don't worry, my bubble has been burst years ago. Everything seems peaceful only a couple of times in my lifetime, this is one of them.

Well, it was peaceful until his scent lingered up my nose and I felt his presence next to me. He sat very close and all of a sudden reality once again struck me.

Damon.

"What's up, bro. I thought you'd ride with scarlet," Harley said as him and Damon greeted each other with the 'oh so famous' cliche male handshake.

"She's sick. I told her I'd come by after school," Damon replied, leaning back onto the backrest.

Scarlet is indeed sick. I was upset when she told me the news because now I'm all alone today. But I promised her I'd come by later with food and her mood instantly changed from glum to happy.

As I scrolled through my phone checking my grades online because I have no other life, a hand landed on my thigh. I gasped under my breath and nearly almost dropped my phone as I felt his hand move up.

I am wearing skinny jeans so it feels like his hand is actually touching my bare skin which isn't making this situation any better. Damon's hand squeezed my inner thigh making me bite my lip.

I didn't dare look at him already knowing what he wants. He wants my attention and I'm not giving it to him. I felt his intense stare on me as I continued scrolling through my grades.

That was until my phone dinged and a text from Brett popped up. A little smile tugged on my lips as I read his good morning text.

But that smile soon vanished once I felt Damon tug at the ends of my hair, making me look at him. I glared making him narrow his eyes at me.

He glanced at my phone then back at me, raising an eyebrow. As if I'm going to tell him who texted me. Damon has been killing me these past couples of days with his possessiveness.

He acts completely l-like- like... a boyfriend!

It seemed I have been in a daze for a minute because his hand slides higher and he squeezed. I looked up and saw him glaring at my phone screen. This made me hop up immediately and snatch the phone away.

"Could you mind your business?" I said out loud, becoming irritated.

"What's happening?" Asked Harley as he drove into the school's parking lot, parking his car.

"Damon keeps looking at my phone. Have you heard of privacy?" I tilted my head at him and folded my arms across my chest, glaring at him.
