"good morning babes" gus said, waking up beside me. "your morning voice is hot" i told him. "you're hot" he said. "today's the day" he said. "that it is", i kissed him. "it's already 10, wanna get going downstairs? i'll make you breakfast" i offered. "i need another kiss first" he said, "okay" i granted his wish. i hung off of his shoulders while he tried to stand up, he piggybacked me off the bed. "are you gonna get off?" gus asked. "no" i said, resting my head down on his shoulder. "okay" he said.
gus carried me down the stairs on his back, carefully so that i didn't fall. "oh" ben said when we reached the bottom, he was in the hallway. "we're good here again?" he asked, pointing to gus and i. "yeah, we're good" i said. "as long as you're both happy" he said. "we are" gus said, planting a kiss on my cheek. "ew gross go be in love somewhere else" ben said. "don't get too ahead of yourself there benjamin" i said. we weren't in love yet. i don't think. i don't know.
gus put me down when we got to the kitchen, "what do you want to eat?" i asked him. "ummmm, how about french toast and pancakes?" gus asked. "both?" i asked. "yeah big day ahead" he said. "as you wish" i shrugged. "you're the best baby" he said. i got to work in the kitchen on his food, "anyone else wanna eat? there's gonna be leftovers" i said. "i'll ask" gus said, pulling out his phone.

"everyone's coming" he said, "oh good" i said. before we could get another word in the other 3 piled into the kitchen, you couldn't hide food from them for long. gus came to stand by the counter with me while i cooked, giving the chairs to everyone else. "so we're back together i see" cody pointed out. "yeah y'all confusing as hell" tracy said. "kind of" i said, not wanting to involve anyone too deeply right now.
"go eat" i said, handing everybody their full plates. "thanks aspen" everyone said. "thanks boo" gus said, kissing the top of my head. "aw" cody said. i rolled my eyes at him. "you ready to drop this?" cody asked. "fuck yeah bro" gus said. the boys finished up their food, they were all literally human garbage disposals.
"cmon babe, i want you with me when it goes up" gus said. "okay, you wanna do it now?" i asked him. "yeah, let's do it" he said. i sat by gus side while he fiddled around on the computer, getting the album ready to drop. cody, ben ad tracy sat on the couch across from us.
"3...2...1" gus said, clicking the last button to put the album up. we all clapped for gus as hellboy dropped. gus put the computer down and kissed me. "get a room you two" tracy said. gus flipped him off. "i'm proud of you" i told him. "thank you" he said. "it's gonna be a hit, i know it" i said. "proud of you man" cody said.
- gus' album had been a hit so far, loving pouring in for him on every one of his platforms. people had just started arriving for the album release party tonight. i was a little worried, knowing girls would be here. i wanted to trust gus, so i really tried to let myself do so.
"don't do anything stupid tonight gus" i told him, just a gentle reminder. "i know baby, i won't leave your side" he said. gus constantly had friends, other artists and producers, clout chasers and girls coming up to him all night. most girls turning away almost immediately when they saw me. -

gus kept his word and stayed by me all night, we both had a couple drinks and some weed. just enough to have a little fun but still keep our brains. "congrats on the album peep, love it man" some guy came up to him to tell him. "ay thanks man" gus said. "i've literally never seen that kid before in my life" gus whispered in my head. i giggled, "there's been a few of those hasn't there?" i asked. "a concerning amount" he said.
"hey gus" some girl said, approaching him as if i wasn't there. she leaned slightly forward towards him. "congrats on the album, what have you been up to? you look good" she said. my blood immediately boiled, i wanted to knock the bitch out. i decided to see how gus handled this one. "thanks, just been writing songs. hanging out with my girl" he said, wrapping his arm around me and leaning back into the couch. "oh" she said, turning and walking away. nicely done gus, nicely done.
"your post earlier was hot by the way" he said, leaning into my neck, placing a couple light kisses along it. "gus" i said, "not here". "upstairs?" he asked. "not right now babe, everyone's here for you. it's your party, enjoy it" i told him. "can i get you another drink?" gus asked. "yeah, surprise me" i told him. i watched gus as he walked over to the cooler, grabbing me a random premixed.
"thanks" i said, cracking the can open. gus looked around the room, at all the people. "can you believe it?" i asked him. "believe what?" he asked. "that you've come this far, that everyone is here for you" i told him. "not really. it's kind of surreal, songs i made in my bedroom have gotten me this far" he said. "you deserve it all" i told him.
