I head off after Bucky knowing he'd be going after Zemo. And since Zemo had been working to end the Winter Soldier program or in jail since Sokovia had fallen it doesn't take a genius to figure out that's where he went.

When I get to the memorial I see Bucky and Zemo standing in front of the statue talking. As I walk up to them the sound of my boots on the rocky path gets their attention, "don't think you two could start the party without me."

"I thought the two of you would have been here sooner," Zemo turns back to the statue, sniffing a bit and looks back to me with a less than genuine smile, "don't worry. I've decided I'm not going to kill either of you."

"Imagine my relief," Bucky shrugs.

"The girl has been radicalised behind salvation." Zemo shakes his head, turning to me, "I tried to warn you and Sam, but you didn't listen to me. You're as stubborn as Steve Rogers before you." Zemo then turns his gaze to Bucky, "but you. They literally programmed you to kill. James, do what needs to be done."

I cross my arms, "what makes you think we have to kill her?"

"Karli has people everywhere, and theres only one way to make sure she cannot continue her mission."

"Her mission is to help displaced people."

Bucky just sighs, nodding, never taking his eyes off of Zemo, "I appreciate the advice. But we're gonna do it our own way."

Zemo chuckles softly, "yeah. I was afraid you would say that."

Out of the corner of my eye I see Bucky take something out of his pocket, before I hear the clicking of a gun. He raises the gun with his right hand, holding it up to Zemo, who doesn't look scared, he almost looks at peace with his fate. I step back to Bucky, placing a hand on his chest, "Bucky, this isn't you anymore."

"You're right," Bucky exhales as he pulls the trigger, but nothing happens, just another click, before he looks down to me, "it's not." Bucky lifts his hands and let's the bullets that had once resided in the gun fall to the ground.

I hear the marching of feet and look around to see the Dora Mijale walking up behind Zemo. Two standing beside him and one behind him. Zemo looks around to the Dora, "ladies..." As he takes a deep breath he looks back to Bucky, "I took the liberty of crossing off my name in your book. I hold no grudges for what you thought you had to do. Goodbye, James." Zemo then looks down to me, "though it may be wishful thinking, I hope to see you again... P."

Two of the Dora Milaje escort Zemo to the aircraft they had come on, but Ayo stays behind with Bucky and I, "we will take him to the Raft... Where he will live out his days. It would be prudent to make yourself scarce in Wakanda for the time being, White Wolf."

"Fair enough," Bucky nods.

"And you as well," Ayo looks over to me. "It is well known that the two of you are working together, and while our people do not harber any anger toward you, it may be dangerous for you to return too soon."

I nod, "I understand. Thank you."

Ayo smiles before hugging me, "I will send word once it is safe. I know you love our country as much as we do."

When Ayo and I seperate she nods to Bucky before following her fellow Doras, but Bucky calls out to her, "hey." Ayo stops and turns to us, "I may have another favor to ask of you."

I look up to Bucky, "while you two work out that favor, I have something I gotta do with Sam."

"Have to do or want to do?"

"Have to do," I kiss Bucky on the cheek, "I'll see you soon."
