Win This Race

Despite the trials that threaten

To leave me shaken,

I will neither bend nor break;

For God guides me every step of the way.

People can say all they like

And try to haunt my mind

With their cruel actions;

Though I will not drown in dejection.

Instead of choosing to be sad,

I focus on the blessings I have;

Food, clothing, shelter, a loving family;

Above all, the Father Who created me.

Yes, sometimes I feel down;

Though I do not stay on the ground;

But I get back up after shedding tears;

And with determination, I face my fears.

I know that I can win this race;

No one and nothing can shake my faith;

Quitting is not a word in my dictionary;

To Him I give my all wholeheartedly.
