November 26
Thanksgiving

"Do you think I look okay?" Brielle asked her cousin as she stood in front of him wearing a soft cream sweater dress with brown heels and a brown purse. Her hair was styled in a half up half down look.

"You look wonderful Elle"

She grinned and looked at herself in the mirror. Her growing belly sticks out like a sore thumb making her place her hand gently on her baby belly. "Do you think they will like me?"

A week ago, Killian asked Brielle if she would like to join his family for thanksgiving. He said he doesn't traditionally celebrate the holiday but his sister insisted on it this year. Brielle at first was a bit anxious about the idea to which Killian reassured that it would all be okay.

She eventually agreed and told her family who completely understood then made her promise to join them for Christmas. Trinity—Brielle's mother—cooked a meal for Brielle and Killian which is why they were at Brielle's home a few days ago.

"I think they will be stupid to not like you Elle. It would be their lost" Christian told her and watched as she did her makeup, focusing on a warm and neutral look with a brown eyeshadow.

"As soon as they see me pregnant, they are going to think of me differently" She said as she let out a loud sigh and shook her head.

"They won't"

"Yes they will" Brielle groans.

"Man fuck them then!" Christian says, kissing his teeth and rolling his eyes.

"Kyre—"

He shakes his head no. "They are fucking stupid as fuck if they want to judge you for something that isn't their business to begin with Elle"

She sighs once more and turns to look at her cousin. "I just don't want them to hate me and then Killian hating me too"

"Why would he hate you?"

"I don't know. Parents are a big thing for relationships right? So if they don't like me so he ends things with me"

Christian walks over to her, shaking his head again. "Then he is a damn fool Brie"

Brielle stood outside of Killian's car, looking up at him with scared eyes. "What if they don't like me?" She asks him, the same insecurity surfacing from earlier.

"They will love you"

She groaned lightly and buried her face in his chest. The anxiety of meeting his parents for the first time is really overwhelming Brielle more than she originally thought.

Killian wrapped his arms around her and gently asks, "Do you want to leave? We don't have to do this any time soon. We can go at your pace."

She shakes her head no.

"I need to do this. I'm not chickening out" She tells him and pulls herself out of his hold, holding his hand. He nods and kisses her forehead before they walk up to the front door.

Killian unlocked the door with his key and stepped inside calling out to someone in a foreign language to Brielle. Seconds later, Leilani came rushing toward them, tackling Brie in a hug.
