"What happened?"

Brielle looks over at Killian for moment before looking back down at her lap. "My mom came back." She whispers for a very moments.

Brielle couldn't even believe the words that were leaving her lips.

So much has happened in the last year that Brielle almost quite literally forgot about her birth mother missing. She hates that even though that woman has caused her a lot of pain, she still cares and loves her mother deeply. And because of that love, it pains her to know that she forgot about her own mother's disappearance.

"How did that go?" Killian asks his girlfriend as they drive toward his home. Brielle only shakes her head as a small sniffle escapes her. He casts a glance at her and reaches down rubbing her thigh softly in his hand.

Brielle smiles at the simple gesture and sighs loudly. "I'm so happy she's okay." She admits and wipes her eyes. "But I'm so angry and hurt that the reason she disappeared was because she was getting high and hooked on that shit like before."

Killian grew silent. He squeezes her thigh gently and clears his throat as she continues to speak. "I thought we were past this. I mean it's been more than ten years since she came back. Never did I think she would go back to her old ways."

"You couldn't have predicted this."

She nods her head and sniffles once more. "I just want a normal mom. A mom is going to be there at my wedding. She's going to smile and cry when she sees me in my dress. That's all I want, not some coked up druggie of a mother who disappears when she feels like it. Is that mean to say?"

Killian shook his head no. "No it isn't. That's all how you feel." Brielle nods and leans her head against the car window.

"Can you stop at the store? I need to pick up some things to cook when I get home."

"Actually do you want to spend the night at my place?" Killian asks making the girl look towards him. "I have something I want to show you."

"Yeah I'll like that." Brielle grins causing him to grin as well.

They reach Killian's home about ten minutes later and Killian holds Maisie while Brielle follows behind him towards his front door. Unlocking the door, Killian walks inside and shuts the door behind Brielle Mae.

"I need to prepare a bottle for her. She's probably going to wake up soon" Brielle walks to Killian's kitchen and sets the baby bag down on the counter.

She prepares a bottle for her little one and sits it in the microwave until Maisie wakes up. Brielle takes her from her boyfriend's arms and smiles as she looks at her sleeping baby girl.

"Follow me."

Brielle follows him up the stairs and towards a room right across from his bedroom. He opens the door and she instantly gasps at the sight of the room.

A nursery.

"I had this room made and decorated a week before you gave birth. Leilani helped with the decor side of things while Leon made sure to build the crib and shelves. He actually gave me the idea of getting crib that could last her up until she's two."
