Siddharth's pov!

"Doctor, how is my sister and her baby?" I asked anxiously.

"Mr Raichand, I didn't realise the patient was your sister.." The doctor said in surprise and I shot a cold look at him.

"My sister and the baby, doctor?" I asked once again furiously.

"They are alright now, Mr Raichand. She hit her stomach somewhere. Luckily it wasn't a lethal one. And she panicked too. She is stable at the moment. And she needs complete bed rest and two weeks later, get another scan done." The doctor said and I sighed in relief..

As I stood in the dimly lit hallway of the small hospital, my mind raced with a million thoughts. My sister's well-being was my top priority, and I was determined to ensure she received the best possible care.

Turning to the doctor, I gave my instructions with steely resolve.

"Make the arrangements for her to be shifted to the city hospital. I want her transferred immediately."

The doctor hesitated for a moment, clearly taken aback by my insistence.

"But Mr. Raichand, we provide the best treatment here—"

"I appreciate your efforts, Doctor, but my sister's comfort and safety are non-negotiable," I interrupted firmly, leaving no room for further discussion.

With a nod from the doctor, I turned my attention to Parinidhi, who had been by my sister's side throughout the ordeal. Despite my earlier coldness towards her, I couldn't deny the gratitude I felt towards her for bringing my sister to the hospital on time.

"Thank you, Ms Vyas," I said, my voice softening slightly as I acknowledged her role in ensuring my sister's well-being. "You have done a great service today."

Her eyes widened in surprise at my unexpected gratitude, but she quickly composed herself and nodded in acknowledgment.

"I am just glad I could help, Mr Raichand," she replied earnestly.

Satisfied that my sister was safe now, I gently urged Parinidhi to go home and rest.

"You have done more than enough, Ms Vyas. Go home and take care of yourself," I said, my tone gentle yet firm.

Reluctantly, she complied with my order, casting one last worried glance towards the emergency room in which my sister was still laying, before reluctantly making her way out of the hospital.

Once Parinidhi had left, I turned to Ansh, knowing there were still arrangements to be made.

"Ansh, handle the hospital payments," I instructed, handing him my credit card.

A few minutes later, Ansh returned with a perplexed expression on his face.

"Sid, the bill has already been paid," he informed me, confusion evident in his voice.

My brow furrowed in bewilderment.

"Paid? By whom?" I wondered aloud.

As if on cue, the nurse who had attended to my sister earlier passed by, overhearing our conversation. She approached us, a look of admiration in her eyes.

"The girl who brought your sister here," she explained, her voice tinged with respect. "She paid the bills and even pawned her gold bangle to cover the expenses."

Her words struck me like a bolt of lightning, leaving me speechless with a profound sense of gratitude and admiration for her selflessness.

Despite her own financial struggles, Nidhi had gone above and beyond to ensure my sister received the care she needed. Her actions spoke volumes about her character, and I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by her generosity.

As the hospital administrator informed me that my sister was ready to be transferred, I got busy with those formalities and shifting her.

By nightfall, Jeevika di was settled in a VIP room at the city hospital, surrounded by our concerned family members. As I looked upon her sleeping form, a wave of relief washed over me, knowing she was in good hands.

"We shouldn't have gone anywhere leaving her alone.." Kalpana chachi said, wiping her tears.

"Right. We are lucky nothing terrible happened and she is safe now." Dadi said in relief.

"We should thank Nidhi for that. She took quick actions, else I shudder imagining what could have happened." Parth said and I saw my dadi and chachi nodding in gratitude.

"We should thank that girl. If not for her.." Dadi trailed off with a heavy sigh.

"Did you inform damad ji, Sid?" Kalpana chachi asked.

"No chachi. The call wasn't going through. He is probably somewhere where there is no network coverage. You know how his work is. I will try again later." I said and she nodded.

"I hope he could get a few days off and spend some time with Jeevika. She misses him a lot and right now she needs him the most.." Dadi said, caressing di's head.

"Sid, when you get through to him, ask him to take a few days off and come home. The last time he came, he stayed for just one night and then left the very next day. That is not how things are done. Yes, his profession and career are important but marital life is equally important. He cannot always prioritise his job above all." Kalpana chachi said, her annoyance evident in her voice.

Dadi and chachi are both right. Di is pregnant and this is the time when she must be craving for jeeju the most. But then we all know how demanding jeeju's profession is. Di understands him the best. But as dadi said, it could be nice if he could get a couple of days off to spend time with di. She deserves that at this time.

However, my thoughts were soon interrupted by Ansh, who showed me a tabloid article that was spreading like wildfire on the internet.

The headline sent shockwaves through me, as a picture of Bhavna Chavan exiting an OB-GYN's cabin accompanied the caption: 'Fashion Mogul Siddharth Singh Raichand Going to Be a Father?'

What the f*ck?

My heart skipped a beat as I stared at the headline in disbelief, the implications of the article sinking in.

With a heavy sigh, I realised that in the midst of my sister's health crisis, another storm was brewing — one that threatened to upend my carefully curated life.
