The show is set in the 90s and is a coming-of-age story about a tomboy realising her sexuality. I loved that teenagers actually behaved and looked like teenagers, making memories, experiencing heartbreak, and not having a sassy comeback at every line.
Honestly, at the start, I was scared because Emaline was portrayed as bitchy mean girl, I thought it was going to be a bully romance. But thankfully it was not and I was actually giggling and smiling at the end.
As much as I am sad it got cancelled after one season. I am happy we at least got a satisfactory ending with our gaybies dancing together at the end and not a cliffhanger where we would have to worry if they got together or not.
