sunsets with you

i watched as the colors of the sky changed with the ever changing sun.

the one that brought nothing but darkness to me,
changing the very ceiling of my life.

at first it was your typical blue,
like the color of your shirt

as the sun began setting,
it matched the rosiness of your lips

the lilac began showing,
and it paired with the icons of notifications you kept ignoring

id never seen a sunset mold the color green,
but i think mother earth was jealous of your eyes

i watched as the sun fell finally letting go

changing again as it always does,
ready to turn everything in this existence

it was now a deep blue,
the color of my forgotten sorrows

the clouds appeared grey,
how the world looked before you came

stars shooting above,
for all the wishes that never fulfilled

the moon shined so bright at that moment,
reminding me that in the darkness there was hope

i watched as you brought me in

with colors that only reminded me of you,
and the us in the future

with darkness succumbing,
being engulfed by your smile

with serenity finally setting,
as the ever changing darkness finally ceased

and while taking me in,
i learned to love the sun
