He abruptly takes a step back, his hands releasing their hold on my waist, an empty feeling lingering, replacing the burning one that was there moments ago
"I think i'm a perfectly fine captain" he returns his attention infront of us as I sit on the couch behind the wheel
"I would do much better"
"Considering you've never sailed, i'm the best option"
"I disagree"
"Okay, then it's all yours" He moves to the side giving me access to the wheel, a smile grows on my face as I jump up from the couch, grabbing onto the wheel, I feel his presence behind me, his hot breath on my neck, I confirm that he's there and not merely my imagination as he extends his arm past me, pointing to where we're headed so I know where to go
We go through a large wave causing the boat to raise from the water before falling back down onto another wave, I step back balancing myself, at the unexpected movement a certain pair of hands grab my waist as I run into his chest, "You almost fell once, be careful"
He allows me to drive the boat the rest of the way, his hands not leaving my sides, my back pressed against his chest the entire time, as if refusing to leave my presence
"Alright chérie, I need to take over now" I huff in acceptance, walking to the front of the boat so I can sit down while I wait for him to drop the anchor
I stare out into the ocean, watching as the waves crash against the cliffs, the bright blue water practically see through, my ears make sure to not miss the sound the water makes against the rocks, or how the birds sing out, flying just above the surface of the liquid
"What ya lookin at?" A familiar voice whispers into my ear sending a chill down my spine, I turn around, a smile on my face, "It's pretty self explanatory" He only laughs at the sentence I repeated from him earlier
I get a notification on my phone, pulling it out I read it saying that Charles posted a story, deciding to open it I can't help but playfully scold the brunette
"I did not almost crash us!"
"You have to much faith in yourself chérie" he blows me a kiss in which I only roll my eyes, getting up so that we can go swimming
We spent the day swimming and exploring the coves, laughing and actually enjoying one another's company, something we haven't had the luxury of doing very often lately, for a moment it feels like we're back in Italy, oblivious to the cruel realities that is our lives, simply soaking in the moments that would soon turn into memories as well
