When she got back, Miko spent the rest of the morning interrogating Temptest about the other dimension. She skipped a few topics, deciding she wasn't in the mood to go over any more sensitive information. Optimus was nosy enough. Jack managed to drag her away to play video games, which was a ploy to make her study for a history test. Now that they were full-time military base residents, their education was done online and Miko was happy to take advantage of it.

Jack needed her to pass because he wanted them to look good in front of General Bryce. The man could kick them out any time he wanted to, and the only thing standing between that was Agent Fowler's word and Optimus Prime's very well-wored request.

Now that Temptest had a little peace, she rested her helm against the wall next to the humans and let herself offline. She didn't recharge much last night and a power nap would do her processor good.

Or so she thought.

"Commander Temptest, uh, where do you want the energon transferred to?" the red bot questioned.

She looked over. "Um, does it need to be transferred?"

He nodded. "It can't be stored next to the raw cybermatter. It causes cellular regeneration and might cause the energon to reverse synthesis, making it become crystalline again and continue growing. That's good, for later, but not if we want all of our fuel to become unusable."

Temptest blinked. "So science is telling you to move the energon?"

He nodded. "Yes, ma'am."

She shrugged. "Ask science where to put it."

The red mech looked around and placed it on a different shelf, closer to the door.

"So are you one of Shockwave's apprentices?" Temptest asked.

He laughed. "Oh, no. I'm just medic, sometimes a soldier, sometimes a scientist. I go wherever they need me. I'm certainly no Shockwave."

"Good enough for me," Temptest smiled. "What's your name?"

"Knockout," he answered.

She perked up. "Ohhh, the wrecker, er, Breakup, he told me about you. You work with the wreckers?"

"Yes ma'am, my unit was rescued by them some time ago and I never really left," Knockout scratched the back of his neck. "Breakdown and I are good friends... but I'm sure we will all have plenty of time to get to know each other since we're all leaving on this ship."

"Yeah," Temptest grinned. "We'll be stuck together for a while."

"That we will, Commander," Knockout agreed.

"And please, you can drop the formalities," Temptest assured him. "I only use them when I want to scare people."

The door to the side opened and the two of them looked over as Megatron walked inside. Knockout's draw dropped.

Temptest laughed at him. "Get used to him, too."

Megatron looked between them. "Are you harassing the new recruits?"

"No!" Knockout dropped to a knee. "She is not, sir— uh, Prime– sir– your highness– sir– Primeiliness—"

Temptest snorted and walked away, punching Megatron in the side as she went. "Have fun with that."

"Fun... yeah," Temptest mumbled quietly, barely comprehending her own words as she onlined. She let her optics adjust to the lighting and sat up. Her chin was a little sore from hanging off the human deck. She wiggled it around a little and yawned.
