As I opened my eyes, a chilling forest met my gaze, blanketed in a dense fog with the haunting symphony of bat noises echoing around. Parang hindi ko magawang galawin ang aking mga paa, subalit napansin ko na kayang-kaya ko pang ikotin ang aking ulo para masilayan ang kakaibang kapaligiran
For a moment, I felt the hanging wind embrace me from behind, accompanied by a mysterious scream that sent a shiver down my spine. Wala akong maintindihan sa nangyayari, dahil kakapikit ko pa lang para matulog sa tent, ito agad ang bumungad sa akin pagbukas ng mga mata ko.
Hindi ako pamilyar sa lugar, na tila ba ako'y nananaginip. The surreal surroundings added to the confusion, making me question the reality of it all. If I am dreaming, kailangan kong magising.
I closed my eyes and imagined myself waking up, but just when I was focusing, I heard another scream. This time, it was long and terrifying, making me snap my eyes open. Suddenly, sorrowful voices engulfed my ears—a chorus pleading for help, desperate to escape whatever ensnared them.
Mabilis akong napatakip sa aking mga tainga dahil sa lakas ng kanilang mga sigaw. Para akong nabibingi sa sobrang sakit nito sa pandinig ko. Their pleasing continues, different voices— from childrens, women and men, and even an elderly bangs my ears all together.
“Your Majesty, where are you?!”
“Your Majesty, help us!”
“Please come and save us, your Majesty!”
Ilan lamang ito sa mga naririnig ko. The phrases are repeating, scraping my ears, making me lose my sanity. Suddenly, the echoes dispersed as a blinding light emerged from the darkness. A brilliant green light broke through, illuminating the gnarled branches and casting an enchanting glow on everything it touched. The light seemed to dance and flicker, turning the otherwise eerie atmosphere into a mesmerizing spectacle, as if the forest itself held secrets waiting to be unveiled.
The once cold ground warmed beneath my feet, transforming into fertile soil as grass timidly peeked through. Trees burst into life, bearing fruits, and the sky cleared, expanding into a vast expanse. It felt as if the darkness had lifted, making way for a new beginning, a rebirth of life.
“What is happening?” I mumbled to myself as I looked around. Nagulat na rin ako dahil kaya ko ng galawin ang aking mga paa. I moved freely, in awe of what I was seeing.
Bumalik ang tingin ko sa liwanag. It blinded me but I didn't move my eyes. Gusto kong malaman kung ano ito at bakit nagawa niyang puksain ang kadiliman.
“What are you?” I asked, praying for an answer.
The light responded, “I rule this entire land, Fabienne.”
My lips parted at the mention of my name. "How do you know me?" I questioned, eyebrows furrowing as I tried to comprehend this ethereal encounter.
“You are my successor; of course, I know your name.”
Confusion etched my face. "Successor? What do you mean?" I inquired, taking a hesitant step forward. "And where am I?" I added another question to the mix.
“Your consciousness is in the Emerald Forest. It's a bridge between the mortal realm and the divine realm of Dalaysia. Dalaysian creatures live here, cultivating for countless cycles, eventually earning a level to descend to the mortal realm and acquire a mortal body.”
"And why am I in the Emerald Forest?" I questioned, my confusion deepening. Medyo nagugulat na ako sa mga naririnig ko, parang may mangyayaring ayaw kong harapin.
