WAITING FOR A MIRACLE

UNEXPECTED!!!

"Just when you think it can't get any
worse, it can. And just when you think it
can't get any better, it can."

A week rolled on since that incident which
caused Faiz's life to go upside down for a
minute. Rukhsaar suffered from arrhythmia but according to the Doctor, Rukhsaar's condition improved a bit after that. She was responding to those drugs that earlier showed no use to her body.

Faiz was just breathing each day instead of
living. How could he live when his life was in someone else soul, her wife's soul.

He regularly witnessed nightmares and was haunted by the thought that he will lose her any moment. He was restless and those uncontrollable thoughts made him sick.

"Faiz, It's Sunday, leave your work for
Some time and come and have breakfast with us", Aamina called him.

"Ammi. Umm.just 5 mins more", Faiz said
"You've been saying it for 20 mins", Aamina
was angry now and closed his files.

"Okaayyyy Ammi..I'm coming. No one can
get to deny you", Faiz huffed and embraced
her, smiling to himself.

"Assalamaleikum everyone...", Faiz greeted
with a smile.

"Walekumaslaam.", Everyone replied in
unison.

"Faiz how's everything in the office",
Farmaan asked.

"Yeah... Umm.. Good...", Faiz spoke while
munching on his sandwich.

"Don't speak while eating Bhai", Huda glared at Faiz.

"Sorry. People...but I'm getting late for my
office", Faiz spoke after drinking the juice in one gulp.

The universe worked in some mysterious
ways and the prayer is answered. Blood
rushed through her body like never before.
She was alive but lifeless. Blood rushed to her brain nourishing it again. Everything was coming back to its place like broken glass being glued again. Memories rushed back to fit in their place in a fast forward mode. And her fingers trembled, her body showed some movements and her eyes opened to see things that were unexpected.

"Hello...Am I talking to Mr Ahmad...?", Dr
Shekhar spoke over the phone.

"Yes..", Faiz replied

"There is good news for you, in fact excellent news, your wife.. She is out of Coma... She is conscious now", Dr Shekhar spoke with a smile, "Come here and see it all by yourself", He said before hanging up the call.

Faiz could not absorb what the Doctor
said. The world around him went silent and
paused for a moment. He blinked back those tears of joy that were blocked by those of sorrows and grief and had waited soo long to make their way out. Faiz who was standing outside the garage moved back and ran upstairs.

"Ammi... Ammi.. Abbu... Bhabhi..Bhai....".
Faiz shouted for everyone to come for
him, "Rukhsaar... She is back... I me...mean she is out of coma.. The doctor...called me...She can. She can..she can talk and We can see her ...now... She...", Faiz held his knees and was panting.

After Faiz's words made their way to
everyone, there was silence for a moment
and after sometimes the silence was filled
with Alhumdulilah, Subhan Allah, Shukran
Allah, Masha Allah...etc...

"Ya Allah... You listened to our duaa finally.
Alhumdulilah..", Aamina raised her hands in dua and started sobbing.

"Ammi. Rukhsaar is alright now and you are
crying... Not fair", Huda embraced Aamina
and kissed her forehead.

"Im calling Adil... He will be very happy.
Masha Allah", Farmaan said, removing his
phone.

"We need to hurry up.. We are going to
meet her after such a long time.. C'mon
Ammi...Abbu is already ready to go", Huda
called out.

"Well, I will come after performing Shukrana Nawafil...umm. Wait for me", Faiz said, and went to his room.

Huda looked at her Mother in law and
said with a smile," I think we should start
following Faiz bhai...".

Faiz raised his hands in duaa and tears of
joy rolled down and he thanked Allah for the Miracle he was asking for and was granted by the Almighty.

After praying, everyone got ready to leave for the hospital together. Faizan was at his school so he was not going with them. Faiz asked everyone to go and promised to join them afterwards, as he wanted to get something for Rukhsaar. He wanted to make her feel alive with him, wanted to compensate for all those times she suffered because of him.

Faiz bought a bouquet of carnation, Rukhsaar's favourite flower, a welcome back card, lots of different chocolates. He was super excited to meet her. He wrote a message for her too in that card...!

I can't thank Allah enough for this day as he
made me the luckiest person in this whole
world. I almost lost you and I can't tell you how much I missed you. Without Allah, I could not have imagined this day to come.
Please forgive me for my attitude in the past and to be honest your hubby has changed himself for you. My words can't explain how excited I am.

Faiz put everything on the back seat and
drove towards City Hospital, only this time with excitement instead of anger, grief or fear.
