I became pale as I eyed the letter lying down on the table. I saw Lily looking up before standing and folding her arms across her chest following which she narrowed her eyes at me.

"What is this, Hannah?" Lily questioned me in a dead serious tone at which I shivered.

Lily never talks to me like this. She only used this tone at me long ago when we fought for the first time, and she swore that she will never talk to me in that tone again.

And here she is, glaring at me while I play with my feet in nervousness and try to give her an answer.

This M didn't even leave Lily's house. Definitely a creepy stalker.

"You read?" I asked hesitantly, at which she slowly nodded.

Damn. I don't even know what did he write this time, and I don't even know what she read.

Sensing that I won't tell her anything, she continued "Since how long is this going on?"

I calculated the days, and found myself surprised too as I said, "Two weeks."

She let out a sarcastic laugh as she clapped her hands, "Two weeks. Two freaking weeks. You hid this from me for two weeks, Hannah?"

She said that with so much of hurt in her voice that made me almost cry. I just hope now that she won't find out about Alice.

"Look, I can explain it-"

"Hello guys! Wait, why is the front door open? Anyways, I brought you breakfast!" Alice announced while barging into the room.

She frowned when she sensed that there was some tension going on. Then her gaze fell down upon the letter and I found myself sweating.

"He sent you a letter again, Ann?" Alice exclaimed and Lily's eyes widen in shock at her statement.

"She knows, Hannah?!"

"I can explain!" I shouted and then fell on the couch as I tried my best not to sob with my face buried in my palms.

"You betrayed me, Hannah. Why didn't you tell me? And you told Alice? I thought we were best friends. I thought we shared everything with each other. I just can't believe you told this to Alice and kept it as a secret from me. I trusted you, Hannah."

"No, Lily, you're just-"

I sighed heavily and decided to give up. She's overreacting. I didn't expect her to act like this. I thought she would understand me.

Guess my life doesn't like me after all.

"Look, Lily, it's not what you think. Hannah was going to tell you but you were busy with your cousins that day, and she was frustrated out of her mind and then decided to come to my house and tell me about it. It's no big deal," Alice tried to explain.

"No big deal? Do you know how much it hurts? It is not a valid reason after all. I just can't- ugh."

Lily stomped away and I didn't miss the tears that were flowing down her cheek.

Nope. Definitely not what I expected.

"I'm so sorry, Ann. I didn't expect for Lily to react this way. I shouldn't have let her know that you told me before her. I'm sorry," Alice said regretfully, and I just shook my head at her.
