Chapter 29

Embry's POV

I don't think Scar realises that her subconscious gives her away to how she feels about Jake,  even though it's inevitable with Scarlet being Jacob's imprint and all but just knowing she's gets a loving expression just from a simple text, it gives me hope that I'll find someone out there to share that kind of love with too.

After catching up on everything that we have both missed during our time apart, I look briefly at the time and I'm shocked to see it's already quarter to 6, knowing I have a pack meeting soon, I gather up my rubbish along with Scarlet's and we head towards the door, waving goodbye to the owner we head towards Scarlet's car. Once buckled in I start to drive Scarlet home.

Scarlet's POV

Realising the direction Embry was going, I look over at him "What about you, I can't let you walk home on your own" I say worried looking out seeing it's almost dark "Scar, I'm a big boy and I can get home by myself" Embry says with a laugh "I know you can Em but I want to know your safe, promise me you'll call or text me when you get home please" I say biting my lip. Embry turns his head a little in my direction before looking back at the road "I promise Scar" He says with a smile, one I couldn't help but return.

Embry's POV

Dropping off Scarlet, I step out of her car and open her side of the door before she even got a chance and couldn't help but laugh at her outstretched hand reaching for the door handle, taking said hand instead I help her out of the car and walked her to her front door "I'm so glad we got to go to our cafe today Scar, brought back loads of memories, we have to do something again soon, I missed my best friend" I say with a sad tone at the end "Of course we will, you couldn't get rid of me even if you wanted to. I missed my best friend too" Scarlet say gently pulling me into a bone crushing hug. Letting her go, I watch her open up her front door, she waves at me before stepping inside. With a smile, knowing she's safe I start heading towards the forest, making sure no ones around I quickly strip and tie my shorts to my leg then shift into my grey wolf with black spots and run towards the reservation. Not seeing Scarlet looking out the window of her bedroom facing the direction of where I left with a shocked look on her face.
