Cole POV

The day after Sami woke up was a Saturday. Before the accident, Sami and I would have just gone for a walk in the park, or something like that. When she was in a coma, I would have just stayed in my room, and mourn for Sami to wake up. But now, I could neither mourn for her, since she is already awake, nor go for a walk with her, because she doesn't want me with her.

I was happy that she was awake, but she doesn't want me with her. I heard from Ariana that whenever she brings up the topic of me, she just changes the topic. She says that she wished she woke up with amnesia. Even if she would wake up with amnesia, she wouldn't remember me. It would just be easier for her to make her fall for me.

I slowly cut a piece of the hot omelette that was on my plate, and I stabbed it with my fork, hesitantly putting it in my mouth, and pushing it down my throat. I really like food; don't get me wrong, but I was just not in the mood to eat.

"Cole, honey, what's wrong?" I looked up to see my Mom right next to me, placing a warm hand on my shoulder. "I know you like my omelettes, but it seems like you don't like it." I looked back down at my food.

"No, Mom, it's not like that. I really love your food. I just don't feel too good." I took another piece of the omelette, gulping it down.

"I know something is wrong. Just tell me what happened." She placed her hand on my cheek, and turned my face to look at her.

I realized that I never told Mom about Sami. I know that she has heard her name before, but she never really knew who she was. I thought that she deserves to know who she is. I cleared my throat before starting.

"Sit here." I turned my whole body to face her, and I pat the seat in front of me. She gladly sat there, waiting for me to start the story.

"So?" She asked.

"You have heard about the girl named Sami, right?" She nodded her head. "I first met her in the very beginning of the school year. She was beautiful, and she was mute." I smiled as I talked about her. "And at that time, I had a girlfriend who went to a totally different school. Actually, she's Aaron's cousin. And I just kind of hooked up with her. Sami and that girl, Sarah, were actually best friends. As close as I am with both Aaron and Hunter." My smiled faded away as I came to the real part of the story.

"And Sarah told me about Sami's life. Her real Mom was killed when she was five, and her grandparents died in an accident the same year. Her Dad left her for someone else when she was about three. She was kidnapped by her adopted Mom's best friend, who happened to be a psycho, and she was almost killed. Her best friend raped her in her first year of high school. She was bullied there, and attempted suicide. Then I came to know about that.

"I have no idea why, but I was an idiot for spreading a couple rumors, saying that she was a slut, a whore, and I regret that so much. She felt so bad, and she attempted suicide again. This time, her heart was so slow, she was about to die. But she lived. Then Ariana was so mad at me because I bullied her. And I asked her for forgiveness, and she agreed. She taught me sign language.

"Later, we spent more time together, and I realized that I fell for her. God I love her more than my life. And I was so glad when she got her voice back. And she said that she got it because of me. I took her on a date a couple weeks, and she told me that she loved me. But I rejected her because... after Dad left, I was afraid someone was going to leave me, even after they loved me. I was a coward. So I even said that we couldn't be friends. And she was so sad. I got her into the accident, and she went into a coma. And here I am. She woke up yesterday, and now she doesn't think I love her. She doesn't even want me near her like she let me before." I bit my lip in pain of all the memories flashing back into my head.
