Chapter 11

Lisa’s POV

6 am

I set my alarm at 6am. I don’t care if I just had 3 hours of sleep. All I want is to see my children as early as possible. I’m still sleepy, I know. But I need to wake up. I’m so excited to see them.

After taking my bath, I went to Rosie’s room to check if she already woke up. But then I found her still sleeping. I already told her to wake up early last night. I even told her to set an alarm because she’s really hard to wake up every morning but she didn’t. “Aish this girl. You need to learn your lesson.” I uttered silently. I get the duvet from her body and start carrying her. I knew it. She’s so heavy because she eats a lot. Yes. A LOT. I feel like I might break my bones any minute now. Gosh.

“Yah Lalisa. Put me down. Do you want to die?” She suddenly wakes up and started shouting at me. “I told you to set your alarm Chaeng but you didn’t. This is what happened when you’re not listening to me.” I said to her then I put her down at the bathroom and start opening the cold shower. She’s now soak. She's shivering beacuse of the cold shower. I smiled evilly. “You only have 5 minutes Chaeng. I’m telling you. I’m already late. Faster.” Then I walk out. I can see that she’s pissed by the way she looks at me. But I don’t care. I need to see my children now.

Rosie walks out at her room after half an hour. I told her to hurry up but she didn’t. I know she’s taking her revenge at me now. She looks at me and then rolled her eyes. I smiled at her. We are really like this. People call us the bickering duo. We are always fighting for small things but after that we suddenly turned out to be okay as if nothing happened. “Let’s go.” I said then I cling into her arm.

I texted Jennie that I’m going to be there in 15 minutes when I’m already at my seat of the car. I waited for her reply but she didn’t text back. Don’t tell me she’s still sleeping.

My knees are already shaking when I realize we’re already close to their house. I can feel that my hands are also cold. My heart is beating erratically. And I feel like I might throw up any minute now. Gosh. I’m nervous as fuck.

“Lisa, are you okay?” Chaeyoung asked me when she glanced at me while driving. “No.” I quickly replied. It’s true though. I am not okay. I’ll be seeing my babies, my four babies for the first time. I was so excited a while ago but now, I’m feeling anxious.

Chaeyoung stopped the car when we arrived at Jennie’s house. She gets out at the car first. I can already feel that I’m shaking at my seat. I don’t want to go out. I don’t know what to do or to say to them. I just don’t know how to react when I see them.

“Lisa. Yahhhh. Get out already. What’s taking you so long?” I heard her shout. Hoooooh. This is it Lisa. You can do this. You can do this. You can do this. I chant in my mind.

When I get out of the car, I feel like I suddenly don’t know how to walk. It feels like my knees can’t carry my whole body anymore. Yes I know I’m exaggerating right now.

I walk towards Chaeyoung. “Hey, what’s happening to you?” she asked worriedly when she sees my state. She caressed my shoulders, then my arms. “Hold my hand Chaeng, feel how nervous I am right now.” I said to her. She obeyed me and hold my hands. “Gosh, your hands are so cold Lisa.” She said unbelievably.

“I just remember you’re so excited a while ago that you carry me to the bathroom to make me take my bath because you said you’re already late. What happened to you now Lisa?” she asked. I know that kind of look she’s giving me now. She’s teasing me.

“I don’t know Chaeng. I suddenly get nervous. I don’t know.” I told her not looking at her eyes. I don’t want to see her teasing look now.

“I don’t know you’re like this Lisa. This is another side of you I didn’t know. Where’s the Lisa Manoban I know who is full of self-confidence? You need her now.” She said to me. I didn’t respond to her. I just look at the ground.

“Come here.” She hugged me and pat my back. “You can do this Lisa. I know you can. Okay? You are going to see your four babies now. Aren’t you excited of how they look?” she tried to cheer me up. It’s effective though. I slightly feel okay.

“Of course I’m excited Chaeng. I know the three boys are handsome like me and Lily is as beautiful as her mom.” I excitedly said with confidence. She smirks. “That’s the Lalisa Manoban I know. Let’s go.” She said then dragged me at the front door.

My babies… Dada is coming.
