'Patient is like a candlelight; the more it burn, the more it shine'

~ LAUREN ~

"What an unpleasant surprise! What are doing in my house?" Jackie asked meticulously eyeing me carefully.

I wasn't in the mood to exchange words with her after the doctor did warn me to abstain from anything that requires much energy as that could worsen my present condition.

I clear my throat, "I came to talk to you"

"About?" She asked uninterested surveying every curve on my body thoroughly like I'm some piece of a specimen to be used for a practical. I got bored of waiting for her to speak and lean on the door frame instead.
She eventually bounced out of her staring quest and open the door widely for me.

I step into her apartment and immediately regretted it as my scent bolt begins to rumble irritably giving me the feeling of throwing up as the effect of whatever air freshener she might have used circulate the atmosphere strongly. I wriggle my nose and facepalm myself to ease the nausea feeling building up, she creased her brows at me and flop down on the cushion picking up a book she'd been reading.

Jackie has never liked me and she'd shown it countless times; not like I'd like her, which makes the feeling between us mutual; she annoys the hell out of me. I glance around searching for the lady I met earlier today to resurface but seems like she'd gone out.

"I strongly believe you didn't journey down here to glance around my living room" She voices out glaring at me. I detach my eyes from the gorgeous painting that hung on the wall which was made by Nick.

"Why do you decide to keep Nick here? Do you know that's marriage interference?" I asked once my eyes rest on her figure, her shirt was slightly lifted exposing her belly, I didn't miss the belly button that shoots out prominently as though she is pregnant. She noticed my stares and quickly pull her shirt down sitting upright.

She ball into a sarcastic annoying laugh that lasted for a wholly good one minute of my time or so I'd thought.

"Hold on! What did you say?" She asked amidst her uncontrollable laughter.

"You know quite well what I said, why on earth will you have Nick buckle up here after he left home? You couldn't advise him to go back to his wife. It's not the first time you're doing this"

"He is my only brother woman, and I felt like he needed some oxygen considering he has been inhaling carbon dioxide for six miserable years"

I shot her an evil eye," Meaning?"

"You are toxic for my brother, Lauren, you suffocate the very life in him. Allow him to breathe," She rattles out aimlessly.

"Too bad for you, isn't it? He is my husband, you have no right to interfere in our lives, you are the third wheel" I spit out.

She scoffs and pushes up from her seat, "Lauren, life is so ironical. Truly, there might be two wheels in front of a car but don't forget that two more wheels stay solidly behind it, and those two wheels can successfully orchestrate the downfall of the entire vehicle if they happen to pull out" She said dropping the book in her hands on the sofa.

"Nick will always come back to me!"

"Sadly, I know he will come back to you. It's so heartbreaking that he loves you as much as he does but believe me, Lauren, when my brother breaks free from your spells, he will walk out and never look back, mark my words!"

"Never! Your bad wishes will never see the light of day, I just want you to stay away from our lives, stop feeding him with negative words about me" I throwback.
