(Y/N) POV
My heart starts pumping rapidly as Vale comes into view
"You excited Kid?" Katherine asks me as I nod my head eagerly
"Yes...I am," I say
"I can't wait to see her again," Indigo says as David agrees
The bullhead landed on a landing pad and we disembark.
"I'll give you a call when I need you again," she says to the pilot.
He nods and takes off once we get off.
"Ok, I presume she's in the hospital," Katherine says with a smirk.
"Yes, it's this way," I say as she laughs a little
"I know where the hospital is, this isn't my first time in Vale," she says as we navigate to the hospital.
It took another nerve-racking 10 minutes before we arrived at the hospital.
"Hello, we are here to see Neopolitan," I say as the office lady types stuff into the computer and then sends us on our way.
My heart was racing as I opened the door...and it stopped when I saw her.
Her head was peacefully resting on the pillow.
Her body was a little thinner than the last time I saw her, but her beauty still lit a fire in my heart.
"So this is the lucky girl," Katherine says as I nod.
"Let's get to work then," she says smiling as she approaches Neo.
"You might want to close your eyes," she says
"Why?" I ask confused
"I don't think you want to go blind," she says as we follow her orders.
A minute passed...and also a couple of bright flashes.
Even with my eyes closed, I could see the intensity of the light flashes.
It went on for another 5 minutes...then it stopped
"Are you done yet?" I ask with my eyes closed
"You can open them," she says with a bitter sound in her voice
"What's wrong?" I say as I open my eyes to see Katherine's worried face.
"As things stand...she should be awake right now," she says as my heart freezes. Neo wasn't awake
My breathing stops as all hope is sucked out of me
"What do you mean?" I ask on the verge of tears
"My Semblance fixes things with the body...so I fixed anything that would prevent her from waking up," she says
"But she's still not awake...which means, something is going on mentality in that girl's head," she says as I simply nod.
"Ok," I mutter quietly.
I walked past her without batting another eye.
I grabbed Neo's hand as I sit in the chair.
I cried...I sobbed my eyes out.
The only thing that prevented that from happening was the hope I had that she would wake up...
But now that hope is gone.
"Neo, please wake up," I say aloud
"Please...I can't go another day without you," I tell her as I kiss her hand.
