(Y/N) POV

He looked at me with a burning passion in his eyes.

"Weakness?" I ask Carter as he shrugs...what a me thing to do.

"Your the mind reader," he points out.

I look into his eyes...nothing

"I got nothing," I mutter as he looks surprised.

"Interesting," he mutters

"It's clear that future me got that wrong," he mutters before charging Hazel.

Hazel took some dust crystals and injected them into his arms.

His veins start glowing the colour of the dust he injected himself with.

"What a freak," I mutter as David looks at me

"No time to be picky. This guy seems strong!" David mutters as he joins Carter's charge.

You stay behind, find his weakness. It seems like we must teach you how to read the unreadable minds you've experienced

Everyone else joins the attack on Hazel but me.

What do you mean? Read the unreadable....impossible.

You will have to...because if you fail...you don't want to know

I look at Hazel as he focuses on which of us will reach him first.

It's Kelly that does. I've never watched her fight before...I didn't even know she used a cane to fight...just like Ozpin, I guess.

Mom stayed back and tried to organize the group.

As everyone fought. I was forced to think.

How can I read his mind...what prevents me from reading his mind...

It's not eye contact. I was looking in his eyes...so what.

Found it yet?

No of course I haven't

Hurry up

The fight just started

You need to defeat him while not killing him...I think he is important later on.

You think?

Yeah, I think. Now stop talking back...I'm the one from the future.

I roll my eyes a little.

Think, (Y/N), think.

How were you top aught to read minds in the first place?

My mind raced to find the answer.

Then it clicked

Flashback

"Come on," father encourages

"I'm trying...it hurts," I complain.

"You can do it, honey," Mom says as I look into her eyes.

"There are so many voices!" I say frustrated.

"You just need to focus on the central one," Dad says as I nod

"But there's so many!" I say as he chuckles

"Nothing my little 4 year old can't handle," he says with a smile.

"Ok, just focus on one. Almost everyone has a main thought...that's what you need to read to find out their true intentions," he says as I nod.

"What happens when someone has two main thoughts?" I ask as he smiles.
