Warnings: Weight of expectations, weird flirting, mention of cannibalism, song at the end and I think this chapter didn't turn out that well...]

After a few pages, Nightmare/Palette grumpily put the book aside and took his second attempt in his hand to continue with the gift. Error/Goth laughed at his behavior.

– I'll relax on the date – Star argued with a disapproving look.

– You're adorable – Goth grinned at him, knowing that the thought of the half-finished gift left him unable to rest and the desire to finish it won. Hearing the laughter, Geno also looked at them and watched the cute interaction between the two of them with a gentle smile. – You're doing quite well already – Error/Goth sensing Geno's presence, watched as Palette's fingers guided the rhythm of the knitting needles.

– It's thanks to you! One more time and we'll finish it – Nightmare/Palette turning towards him with a light smile.

– If you don't want to restart again – Goth in a teasing tone.

– Maybe it wouldn't hurt to do so... – Star critically studied the half-finished doll in his hand.

– I'm sure Ink will love it – Geno trying to dispel his concern.

– Won't find it flawed compared to his creations? – asked Palette, not nearly as sure about it.

– The intention is important – Geno patted his back with a bitter look. Star nodded slowly and Geno left with the empty tea cups. Honestly, Geno couldn't say for sure that Ink wouldn't criticize the gift... The more time Palette spent with them; the clearer become the weight of expectations he had to bear. Geno didn't understand why his parents didn't notice the duality of their words and actions? They argued with the Gods for his freedom, while they themselves piled their own ideas on him, which he had to live up to. Leaving the cups in the sink, Geno returned to the teenagers working on the gift, unsettled by the bitterness swirling inside him.

– Pull that thread tighter – Goth continues to guide Palette through the knitting process.

– I think they both look good – Geno took it the first gift attempt in his hand, which laid sadly unfinished among the materials.
