"KORO-SENSEI SAID WHAT?" The brunette raised her eyebrows at her friends as she packed her things, ready to leave their classroom on this sunny afternoon. Summer was coming, but end of term exams were coming too. And she wouldn't accept a defeat this time.

"He told us that every student who gets the first place, either in the overall ranking or in a specific subject, is allowed to destroy one of his tentacles!" Nagisa answered with a nice smile, standing at sugino's desk along (sugino,) kaede and okuda.

"One tentacle? Huh." Mina bluntly looked down at her desk, comprehending the opportunity. She was planning on placing first it at least three subjects anyway, so this was good. That being said, they couldn't be sure that the destroyed tentacles would really lead to them killing koro-sensei.

"Yes, let's do our best!" Okuda added quietly, seemingly happier than usual as she looked down with flushed cheeks containing her excitement.

Mina gently smiled at that, happy to see the girl not so anxious for once.

"You seem excited, okuda-san." Karma chimed in now, teasingly, leaning back in his chair as he observed most of the conversation.
He just hoped the brunette wouldn't forget herself completely, similar to last time when they took the mid-terms.

Okuda pressed her eyes together, her cheeks growing redder as she answered. She didn't expect THE karma Akabane talking to her, after all. But it did make her happy.
"U-um, yes.. I'm good in natural science, so I was hoping to get the first place somewhere in that part!-" She ranted quickly, stumbling over her own words at times.

"Mhm! We have a lot of people in this class who specialise on one subject field. I'm pretty sure we'll get a few first places if you guys keep it up." Mina explained, shooting okuda a comforting smile as she closed her bag.

"You don't need to worry, though. You or karma are surely gonna get the first place if you really try!" Kaede's eyes shined with excitement, making the red haired boy look at them again.

"I'm not interested in the first place. I'm guessing you will go for it, princess?" He stated unbotheredly before looking at the girl next to him.

Mina's eyes widened slightly as she shot her head in his direction. He didn't want the first place? He beat her last time.
"What? why?" The girl shouted, clearly shocked, before getting interrupted by her phone ringing inside her backpack.
She frowned quickly, looking at the boy in distress before answering the call.

Karma didn't think it was that big of a deal. He never really cared for academics, he was just naturally born with the talent of being good in them. It annoyed him, really. The teachers in his past class only cared about him because he uplifted the horrible class average- his parents only cared to ask about them when they decided to visit, they compared him to him constantly. It was a freak show.
He also didn't know why mina cared so much. About her own achievements? sure. About his? A complete waste of time.

He'd get the first place in some subject or another anyway.

Mina smiled as she heard a familiar voice on the other line of the phone. It was shindo, stuttering like usual. She didn't really understand why he always acted so nervous, but she guessed it was like the okuda thing. She understood that.
"Shindo? Hey!" The girl happily greeted, making sugino and her friends look at her curiously.
Karma only raised his eyebrows. he had her number? He had her number.

"H-Hey! Tina- I mean mina! Wow, I didn't.. I thought I called sugino.." the baseball player nervously fibbled with his jacket, mentally hitting himself.

"Sugino? Well he's here right now. I will put you on speaker, Kay?" Mina chuckled at the boy, rubbing her neck before walking on towards sugino's desk. Pressing the speaker button before putting her phone on his desk.
