Chapter 13

Brynnley:

After that delicious dinner, Carter drives me back to my dorm. On our way back, we have a simple conversation, but honestly, I'm too full even to talk. I so have a food baby right now. Great

"Thank you for coming out tonight I had a good time" Carter says, glancing at me as he looks back towards the road.

"Thank you for taking me. The food was delicious I'll go back there with you anytime," I say

"So you want to go out with me again," he says with a smirk

I obviously wasn't thinking before I spoke. But honestly, I would go out with him again.

"Will see how our plan turns out." I laugh

"If you want, you can take someone with you to the game tomorrow, so you dont have to be alone," he says

"Oh, cool. I'll ask my roommate Jensen if she wants to go. I'm sure she would want to see Jason," I said, shaking my head with a giggle, that dirty girl.

We approach my dorm and look at him.

"Thanks for tonight. I'll see you tomorrow. Good Luck," I say as he smiles.

"Thanks. See you then."

I close my door and head inside.

I get to my dorm and see Jensen on her bed, watching Jane the Virgin. I already filled her in about seeing Carter at the country club and him asking me to get dinner with him. She agreed with me that I should just give him a shot.

She pauses her show when she sees me walk in.

"How was it?" She asks while sitting up and putting her computer on the side

"It went well. I'm actually going to see him tomorrow, too," I say

I continued telling her about how dinner went and about our plan to get his dad to leave the country club or, better yet, get kicked out. In my dreams.

"So he invited me to his game tomorrow and said I can invite a friend, so do you want to come with me?" I said with pleading eyes, hoping she would say yes.

"About that, I was already planning on going. I was going to ask you to come, but after what happened with Carter, I didn't know if you wanted to. But since it went well, I'm so excited you are going so we can be together." She said

I laugh. I'm glad she was looking out for me, but I'm even happier that she will be going.

I start to unwind from this long day and head to bed.

The next day...

I just finished my shift and headed back to the dorm. I'm surprised to say today was a pretty easy and peaceful day at the club. Sure, I had a few annoying members, but I also had a lot of my regulars who always made my day. And to make my day even better, it's also payday. Hopefully, this is all a sign that my day will keep getting better.

I am now back at school and heading inside the dorm, seeing Jensen getting ready.

"Hey, Jens!" I say while putting my purse down

I notice a small rectangular box on my bed and look at her

"What is this?" I say as I inspect the box. What could this be?

"I have no clue. It was outside the door with your name on it. It's pretty light, so I dont think it is a bomb," She says while putting on her mascara

I laugh and open the box. I removed the tissue paper inside the box and was surprised to see what it was.

I hold it up, still in shock.

Did Carter really give me his Jersey?

Jensen looks over to see what I am holding and squeals,

"No way! He sent you his jersey! You are so wearing that tonight! Oh, my god, that is so cute. Ive never seen anyone wear his jersey before." Jensen said excitedly

He never gave his jersey to anyone before? I must be special or something.

I put the jersey down on my bed and decided to text Carter

Brynnley - What is the jersey for?

As soon as I sent it, I saw text bubbles pop up right away

Carter - I figured you didn't have any hockey merch for the game, so I sent you some

I blushed. That was nice of him.

Brynnley - Well, thank you for thinking about me. Good luck. I'll be cheering you on.

Carter - Thanks, I'll score one for you. But I gtg about to do some warm-ups

I feel kinda giddy. He will score one for me. Oh boy, am I in trouble.

I start to get ready and change into a pair of black leggings and a black long-sleeve shirt with his jersey over that since I figured that it would probably be cold in there. And lastly, I put on my white vans.

I look at Jensen to see if she is ready. Once she is we head out the door and get an Uber to the arena.
