Chapter Thirty-Four - Current affairs

Dinner eventually came to an end as I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, my body feeling hot all over from Brand's piercing eyes on me the whole time, never moving more than an inch. Evelyn, Hyde, and Bethany began to slowly leave the table one by one, muttering that they had to do something I think, they all had plans for the upcoming event that needed to be conducted immediately, but if I was honest, I couldn't remember a word they said due to the fact I couldn't stop myself from trying to not to look at Brand, feeling his gaze never leaving me as it burned into my skin.

After the last one left I slowly lifted my head and looked up at him across the table as he moved at vampire speed to the seat next to me and I felt my heart jump into my throat as I gasped in surprise,

"Oh my gods, you scared the shit out of me" I whispered, letting out a few deep breaths as he smirked, leaning over and taking a sip out of my glass as he licked his lips, his eyes darkening. I gulped at the need that instantly grew within me as I slowly pushed my chair out from under the table, his eyes following my body intensely,

"So how do you like the innocent me" I said lowly smirking as I carefully climbed onto his lap, his eyes widening as I felt him take in a sharp breath,

I flicked my hair over my shoulder tilting my face up towards him as I looked deep into his eyes as they flicked down to meet mine and he smirked. His hand slowly reached up and cupped the side of my face as his thumb gently stroked my chin and over my lips, my head instinctively rolling to the side, feeling the sparks rush to my core,

My eyes closed slightly as I felt the hum of pleasure bounce along my skin, teasing me as I clenched my thighs, however my breathing instantly stopping as I felt his hand ever so slowly began moving down the side of my body, running down the sides of the dress which had nothing to cover my bare skin,

His bare hand slowly trailed down my side and his fingers brushed my hip as I let out a little gasp, his hand finally sliding through the material, finishing on my arse as he cupped the side which was very reachable through the big gaps within the dress,

He smirked at my reaction as I lifted my gaze to look at him, "I think I could get used to this, very easily" he said as his hand tiptoed towards my inner thigh with every word, causing me to lose focus and let out low shallow breaths, trying to control myself.

"Although you have been killing me all night, knowing I could easily slip into this dress with all these convenient entrances" he practically growled as I opened my eyes and pulled his face in,

"Well your killing me now by not kissing me" I breathed as he tilted his head smirking, "well that can be easily fixed" he huskily replied as he lent in connecting my lips with his, drawing a moan from both of us,

The kiss quickly escalated our hands running all over each other and our tongues fighting for dominance, it felt as if every hair on my body was standing on end, and a strong electric current was running through every vein,

As I pulled away gasping for air I watched his eyes fade from pitch black to their normal dark stormy grey and I ran my finger over his lips lightly. "I like it when we aren't fighting" I mumbled running my other hand through his hair as he let out a short laugh, "me too" he replied resting his head on mine,

He gently ran his hand through my hair as I snuggled in close, his breath tickling the side of my neck as I shivered, my body tingling.

"Come now, let's go to my study. Let me show you what I've been working on, causing me to not realise how bad my kingdom has become" he said lifting me up into the air as I laughed aloud, my feet dangling as I looked down at him,

"I mean did I have a choice" I said raising my eyebrow at him as he quickly threw me over his shoulder, chuckling deeply,

"Not really, but I just couldn't help it, your body always looks particularly fine from this angle" he said running his hands up the back of my thighs as I slapped his back, "Brand stop it, put me down i'm not a rucksack" I scowled as he laughed again and placed me on the floor, my eyebrows furrowing as I turned from him and began to walk towards his study,

"I don't mind, your body looks good from here too" he said lowly as I turned around and flipped him off, quickly whipping off my shoes before I ran giggling through the halls, the dress flowing behind me as I heard him chase after me,

He quickly caught me once again throwing me back over his shoulder as I huffed, folding my arms as I didn't bother to struggle, "I thought Evelyn said you were getting faster" he joked slapping my arse as I gasped, hitting his back as I wriggled on his shoulder, "it's this stupid dress's fault. This is why I don't wear them; I can't do anything in them" I grumbled as Brand chuckled,

"I wouldn't say that so confidently, Evelyn managed to kill three vampires in a ballgown, and she only got a single drop of blood on her" he said as I turned to look over his shoulder at him, disbelief covering my face, "I can't tell if your joking or deadly serious, but that sounds like her so I'm going to guess that it's true" I said as he laughed again, shaking his head at me.

As we reached his study he gently placed me down on the floor and I walked in, my bare feet moving silently against the floor as I looked around curiously, I turned to him looking over my shoulder as I placed my hands on my hips,
