We're getting kinda
close to the end of
the book but I'm
planning a sequel
so feel free to leave
title suggestions in
the comments :)

I'm out of touch
I'm out of love
I'll pick you up
When you're getting down
(Ed Sheeran - Lego house)

Damiano's POV

After the two hour flight, Victoria and I picked up our luggage and called a cab to drive us to the hotel we'd be staying at.
"Paris is so beautiful" Victoria mentioned as she stared out the window of the car.
"It is" I replied.
"How long until we're at the hotel?" I then asked the driver.
"Around 45 minutes" he said and I thanked him. A little exhausted from the flight, I put on some headphones, shuffled my favorite playlist and drifted off.

Suddenly, the sound of a certain song woke me up from my short nap. It was Lego House.
I usually didn't listen to songs like that but it reminded me a lot of Coraline and I.

And it's dark in the cold December
But I've got you to keep me warm
And if you're broken I'll mend ya
And I keep you sheltered from the storm
That's raging on now

That song meant a lot to me. It was the first song I learned to play on the guitar and it was also the first song I'd played for Cora.

I'm out of touch
I'm out of love
I'll pick you up
When you're getting down
And out of all these things I've done
I think I'll love you better now

Listening to the lyrics closely, I started to miss her even more. Coraline, my sweet Cora, was out there somewhere and we didn't know for sure if we'd find her.

Finally, we arrived at the hotel. We got the luggage out of the trunk and made our way to the reception to check in. The lady at the desk somehow looked a lot like Coraline but then again, she looked completely different; there's no way of actually describing it.
"Now where here. What's the plan? Walk out into this giant city and shout her name?" Victoria playfully asked.
I didn't find it too funny though since finding the girl I loved was incredibly important to me.

"Not funny" I then replied shortly after.
"Sorry. I just wanted to lighten up the mood a bit. I think we should relax a bit though. The day's been long and we still have a couple of days left to figure out where she is" Vic suggested.
"I can't relax now. I need to know where she is. We came all the way from Rome to find her and that's exactly what I'm going to do. We can't waste any time, Vic" I explained but she didn't exactly agree with me.
"Damiano, she could be anywhere. I know it's important to you but don't you think we should go into this with clear minds? This city is huge and it's already dark outside. Let's just go to sleep or something and then we'll go and look for her tomorrow morning" she responded.
"I hate that you're always so sensible, but fine, okay. You're right" I gave in, not wanting to fight.
"I know you do. I promise you though, we'll find her. I'll make sure of that" Victoria reassured me and following her suggestion, we both went to bed so we could search for her in the morning.

Side note: I know the guitar thing isn't true and so are a few other things but for the purpose of the story, just imagine they were true ;)
