Chapter 29

"Eren! Eren!" Mikasa shouted as I broke through the hardened titan skin.

"Eren!" Mikasa shouted for the hundredth time as I looked at the boy.

His eyes were open, yet glassy, like he wasn't here yet.

"Hey, Eren! Up you get!" I said, hauling him up as he finally blinked, eyes focusing on Mikasa.

"Mikasa?" Eren asked as Mikasa and I used our ODM gear to go down, Eren in tow with us.

"That's what I call hardening." Levi said, staring at Eren's hardened titan form in front of us as I left Mikasa to make a fuss over Eren.

"Even after cutting Eren away, the titan hasn't disappeared. Pretty impressive, yeah?" Levi asked, turning to look at the rest of us.

"That bottle... Y/n-san that bottle really did work." Eren said as I nodded.

"Yeah. You couldn't do it at all before now, but you used the hardening power. And saved us all." I said, offering Eren a small smile as he blushed slightly.

"Yeah, well, the constructions looks shoddy." Levi stated as I glared at him, elbowing him in the stomach swiftly.

"Oh come on, give Eren some credit. There's a possibility of plugging the hole in Wall Maria now." I said when a voice from above made me look up.

"Captain!" Sasha's voice echoed from above as she and Connie came from the hole in the roof.

"We've secured an exit!" Sasha shouted, both of lowering themselves to the ground.

"Armin's safe! Hange, Moblit, Petra and Oluo too!" Connie added as Levi nodded.

"Well done." Levi said as Sasha touched the ground.

"Eren!" Sasha shouted, running towards the boy.

"You okay?" Connie asked, also running towards us when Sasha dropped to her knees in front of Eren.

"We're all safe, thanks to you." Sasha said as Eren blinked, flustered at the sudden action.

"But to be perfectly honest, when your ran off prancing while crying like a baby, I thought we were doomed! "It's over, over!" "Get it together, nincompoop!" "Quit bawling like a snotty-nosed brat!" is what I thought." Sasha said honestly as I sniggered.

"Nincompoop." I said as Levi rolled his eyes.

"Hey..." Connie said as Levi sighed.

"Let's go. We're going after that big-ass titan." Levi said as we made our way out.

"Y/n!" Petra said as she offered me a hand, which I accepted.

"We were so worried when you ran off!" Petra said, pulling me into a hug as I laughed.

"I was worried about you too!" I said as we pulled apart.

Petra's eyes flicked towards Levi as I gave her a small nod and turned away as she made her way towards Levi.

"Missed me, Oluo?" I asked as Oluo gave me a weird look.

"Like I'd ever miss you." Oluo said as I chuckled before looking at the landscape.

The ground had caved in and in the distance, I could see the, quote, "big-ass titan".

"That's a pretty damn ugly big ass titan." I said as Oluo scoffed from beside me.

Suddenly, the sound of horses galloping drawing nearer made us all turn as we spotted a few scouts coming towards our way.

"Captain Levi!" One of the scouts shouted as he pulled his horse to a stop.
