Summary:
When Jiang Qi was ten years old, he had black hair and light eyes. He was pale, delicate, and often injured until his head was bleeding.

This is a gem. Based on the summary I thought it will be a light romance with tragic past like usual, but I keep crying when reading about ML. Actually the story is not that deep but still making me emotional. The writing is really good.
First scene it show MC got a nightmare, I thought MC is rebirth or something but it is a normal nightmare. She often dreamt about ML. When MC in elementary, she was kidnapped, ML saved her and told the police. When MC wake up she saw her uncle hitting ML. He thought ML is a compliance, MC stopped him. MC then thank ML sincerely and want to get close to him. ML said his school that turns out he is in the same school as MC. MC then began to get close, her friend warn her saying that ML is a son of murderer. MC got angry and stopped socializing with others, she keep get close to ML. Until they are about to enter junior school. MC ask ML to enter the same school. ML lied to her, he moved his family register to his uncle so he couldn't enter the same school as MC. Then they met again when they are in high school. They got close again. Then when ML is 17 or 16, he was arrested because he killed his father. Because he is minor and it was ruled as excessive self defence, ML got jailed for 3 years. He should be able to reduce it if he is a good prisoner but ML keep fighting with the other in order to protect himself.
MC lost contact with ML, she didn't know that ML is jailed. Her family isolated her. Until she was in college and pay a detective. She then found out that he was jailed but didn't know why. One day she saw him playing a movie.
ML is scouted by a director when the director visit prison. His character is similar with himself so ML could play it. MC then keep sending message to ML weibo, she thought ML won't read it since her friend said it was automated reply. ML then found out and read her messages. MC said she will come to his movie event. ML keep trying to find her but failed. The director said he found out MC detail that she is studying in university. ML went there then met MC. MC said she has something to do. ML thought she didn't want to socialize with him again. ML was ask to another play but ML reject it because the play is a happy romance, he told the truth that he can't act because he didn't know happy emotion. ML went to audition for new role that need to laugh happily but ML didn't know how to laugh. The director called Mc and brought her so ML can laugh. The director ask MC to keep company ML during shooting so he can laugh but MC refuse, she also study and can't company ML all the time but she believe in ML that he can do it by himself.
ML and MC got close again. Then ML lose control during shooting, he was filming in his old residence are where he was abused by his father. ML hit another actor. MC stopped him. ML company terminate their contract and the director got angry. MC then explain that ML got mental illness. They chose not to sue ML but still issue that ML retreating from entertainment. MC then ask ML to stay in hospital for a month to treat his mental illness. This is where it's a bit unrealistic, supposedly ML is having heavy bipolar disorder and self harming, it won't be easily cured in 1-2 month.
After 1-2 month ML is discharged and the doctor said he is getting better and only need to control it by medicine. ML tried to find a job but got rejected repeatedly. He finally found a car repair that accept him. After a month, his fan found out then he lose the job. The director invite him again to continue filming the unfinished shoot. ML felt guilty because the filming stopped because of him. He agreed to continue but without pay. The director then continue to shoot, he felt close with ML. He ask MC about ML past.
MC got into car accident. ML got panicked then he thought if MC couldn't survive then he will also die with MC. MC finished the surgery and only have fractured. ML then accept another movie. After MC healed, ML propose to her. He also ask MC family permission to give him a chance. MC family refused him because he killed someone but MC said the truth. Actually ML didn't kill his father, when he was abused, the man from next door come in and stabbed ML father. ML said that the man live 10 years next to him, he always remind ML when his father come home. His daughter was robbed by ML father so he always resent ML father. After he stabbed ML father to death, ML covered him and confessed his crime.
The director compiled ML story to an article and published it. He said it was ML pay for his movie. In the end ML marry MC and got an award.
