Summary:

Determined to return to the real world, Ning Xin bravely faced the challenge, only to find that the situation was completely different from what she had expected.
Instead of being helpless patients, each of the inmates was a powerful figure, and she, the director, was the one who seemed pitiable.
One night, as she was preparing to sleep after locking the door, a tall man pushed open the door and said in a soft voice:

Review:
I definitely won't reread this story. It should be 3/5, the additional rate is for the unusual plot. It has a nice mystery but it feels weird. It has the same vibe as the other novel, Salted Fish Transmigrated Into An Apocalyptic Book. It's mostly 2 person world while other char are literally act as background. This one is better, at least have 2 supporting characters. Even if in the end they also act as support tools without much personality.
MC is an orphan, she left the orphanage at 16 and began to do small business. She keep working hard and just open a store when she died due to accident. She woke up in rundown mental hospital.
There are zombies outside. She met old lady on 2nd floor. MC got hungry and try to find food. The old lady said there are villages nearby. MC went out and met ML. ML got split personality. He was the 13th prince in Xia. Then he was sent to the enemy as hostage. He tried to improve himself so he can make his father proud and not sending him as hostage. When he came back to his own kingdom, there are wars and his father got sick. The other accuse him as jinx. He then killed them all and become king. The zombies outside are people he killed.
ML said that this is his hell since he killed a lot people. He'll harm himself trying to die everyday.
MC tried to get close to him so she can come back to her world. The old lady promise to tell her everything once ML is cured. The old lady is actually Ghost emperor. She want MC as the mental hospital director and save others similar to ML. She can move back and forth between her own world and the other worlds. She can only stay 7 days in her world every month. Or she can choose to reincarnate. ML offer his life so MC can continue her life. MC choose to become director.
She took ML to her own world. They went to psychiatrist. ML split personality is cured by medicine. This is where I felt weird because it's just that easy to cure mental illness.
MC move to new world. The world filled with trees and other animals. When it's night, they wake up and took all water from the hospital. MC met a puppy and took him back. The puppy is actually a wolf and 2nd patient. He is actually a man but was raised by wolf. The human killed his wolf parent and took him back. He was sold as entertainment to noble. He is mocked and kept by some nobles. He then run away and killed them. Everyday he'll let the trees and other animals suck his life. MC took him in.
3rd world is in 80-90s era. The patient is a son of prostitute. His mother raised him as girl since the boy will be thrown out. When he was 5 yo, his mother died. The other keep him in prostitute house since he's pretty. Later the prostitute house was disbanded. He got sick and have no way to earn money. He was sold to old widow as fake bride. He was abused a lot and eventually kill the old widow. He skinned people and use it as disguise.
I skipped some parts in 3rd world. In the end ML knocked the 3rd patient and MC took them back to her world. MC move to new world and realize it's her own world. She went into illusion world where she find her own parent. She got married and have child. Then she vaguely remember that she forgot someone. She came back to mental hospital and saw the others also in illusion world. ML is back as king. He keeps painting MC. He knows MC in her illusion is married and has child. He still waits for her to wake up.
MC tried to hug him then he suddenly wake up too along with the other 2. The old woman come out again saying it was test for them. She offered reincarnation for them all. The other 2 went to reincarnate. ML refuse and choose to stay with MC. MC also offered to reincarnate or going back to her own world. MC refuse and stayed with ML to continue saving others.
