Part 67 - Pagh Phere

Morning

All were sitting on the dining table for breakfast. She was ready for pagh phera rasam. She had worn a maroon colour saree with sindoor mangalsutra  chuda and a heavy pair of earrings.

Manik - shaam ko office se aate waqt lene aa jaau naa?

Nandini's eyes opened wide in shock.

Ragini - (just entered from the door) jii nahi jiju ab do din di humare saath rahegi, aap beshak aa sakte hai but di ko le ja nahi sakte.

Nyonika - yes Manik ab do din tumhe Nandini ke Bina nikaalne honge (smiling at her son's restlessness to be with Nandini)

Manik - do din? (Shocked)

Nyonika - ji haa!

Manik - fine! (Sadly) aa jaao Chabu tum bhi naashta karlo

Ragini - nahi jiju main khake aayi hoon.

Raj - arre beta baith bhi jaao!

And she sat on the empty chair beside laksh.

Raj - ab bas laksh ke baaju waali chair bharni hai fir hum bhi free ho jaayenge.

Manik - bhar toh di!!

Everyone looked at him shocked as Raj and Nyonika didn't know it yet.

Manik - I mean filhal Ragini baithi hai naa waha pe toh jagah kaha hai

Raj - arre main waise nahi bol Raha tha

Manik - haa dad maine bhi joke maara

Raj - ohh

Laksh - bad sense of humour you know

Ragini - i agree but still better than Laksh

And she and manik high fived across the table.

Laksh made a disinterested face and was busy eating his food. He then thought of something and tickled Ragini below the table by touching her sensitive spot and she giggled a bit due to the surprise element but then controlled and laksh too quickly took off his hands as everyone's attention went towards Ragini.

Ragini didn't know what to say.

Ragini - woh kuch joke yaad aagya (awkward)

Raj - aree waah Hume bhi btao

Ragini - fir kabhi uncle abhi bohot late hogya hai, chalo naa di jaldi, kitna khaogi?

Nandini – haa?

Ragini – toh kya, nayi nayi shaadi hui hai koi itna khata hai bhala?

Raj – yeh galat baat hai Ragini! Usne ab tak khaaya hi kaha hai. Khao beta…

Nandini – (smiling gently)nahi dad, ho gya mera

Raj – aise kaise ho gya? Acha yeh khaati jaao bohot tasty hai…

And he fed her a sandwitch from his plate making everyone smile. While Ragini just adored their bond from side. It somewhere felt that he wasn’t father in law but just her father.

Manik - main tum dono ko drop kar aata hoon

Ragini - no jiju main car laayi hoon

His face fell as he wanted to spend some time with nandini.

Nandini then took blessings from the elders, hugged Laksh and just looked at Manik with a smile.

Manik – kya mujhe atleast hug to deti jaao. Sabke liye hugs sivaay mere!

Everyone laughed but Nandini was feeling shy so Manik came in front and hugged her. He then kissed her forehead and said

Manik – jaldi aana…
